    Rupes LHR75E Mini

I've had the pneumatic version for a few months and the air-tool noise gets a little annoying after a while. I might have to jump on this.

    2005 Corvette Convertible Paint Correction

This damage was caused by the body shop who painted the hood and bumper and trunk lid. Along with the overspray, they hit the entire car with the rotary buffer and really did some serious damage. Thanks!

    2005 Corvette Convertible Paint Correction

Thanks! I really like the black background and so has everyone else I've showed it too. I ordered both so I could see them in person and decide, but I think I'll just be ordering the black ones in the future.

99' Mercedes Brabus, Black, re-paint with body shop love marks

For a '99, that's a sharp looking ride. Great job on the paint!

    2005 Corvette Convertible Paint Correction

Thanks Bob! Yes, it is quite handy to know what you're getting yourself into. I also have the 6000 probe for it. Also I probably should have mentioned I changed my forum name from dsmith2013 to David@DCSPrecision after reading Mike Phillip's article about branding yourself and now being more...

    2005 Corvette Convertible Paint Correction

Passenger door. Passenger quarter panel. Trunk Driver’s quarter panel. Mirror. Afters. Sorry for the long post. Thanks...

    2005 Corvette Convertible Paint Correction

My latest job was another black convertible Corvette (almost identical to the last one). Some parts of the car had been repainted, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Here’s what it looked like when the customer dropped it off. Just a little dust. Wheels weren’t too...

    Detailed my GTO and BMW

The cars look great. However, I just thought I would throw something out there about your process. After compounding, you should have went straight to polishing. By applying a glaze, and then polishing the car, you're not only going to remove the glaze, but you're now polishing paint with...

Bouncers Capture the Rapture Monster Truck Detail

Looks great Mike! I just picked up the Rupes 21 and the LHR75 myself, and I have to say they are some smooth running machines. :xyxthumbs:

    One step paint correction ?

The world will end...just kidding, the oils from the polish can hide defects that you thought you removed , and you just want the paint to be clean before you apply anything. For sealants, it can create a bonding problem as they are meant to be applied to bare paint.

    2007 Corvette Convertible Paint Correction

I did this car for the same person I did the Phantom for (and there's quite a few more left), and believe it or not, I had to actually ask him what his thoughts were on both cars. He was happy with both, but I told him he was going to give me a heart attack because he looked to me like he wasn't...

    2007 Corvette Convertible Paint Correction

I have to agree with you on this. I don't think you can just go with any one company for all your detailing needs. Their APC and Super VRT are two of my favorite products. There are other cheaper alternatives, but nothing seems to work as well. A lot of people complain about some of their...

    2007 Corvette Convertible Paint Correction

I haven't tried their new polishes. They market more towards a hobbyist detailer, so when time is money, their polishes just take too long to correct. If you have tried them though, I would be happy to hear what you thought about them.

    2007 Corvette Convertible Paint Correction

For everyone who asked about the interior, I used Adam's Leather and Interior Cleaner and Adam's Leather Conditioner. I used Adam's Deep Wheel Cleaner (I like Sonax FE a little better, but I just want to use this up) and Adam's All Purpose Cleaner. A lot of Adam's products are underrated I...

    2007 Corvette Convertible Paint Correction

Did a paint correction on this very low mileage Corvette. The car only had a couple thousand miles on it but the paint was in pretty rough shape. Car showed up not very dirty, just a little dusty. Wheel cleaner and APC doing its thing. After a two bucket wash, being clayed, rinsed...

    Swirl-free pony, with CG products

I don't mean to be critical in any way. However, if it had of been myself I would have applied the products in the opposite order. Being that Chemical Guys markets Blacklight as a "gloss-enhancing sealant", they don't exactly specify the "gloss-enhancing" part of it as containing abrasives, or...

    2009 Rolls Royce Phantom

A man contacted me who was interested in a paint correction to fix some damage from the dealer and improper finishing at the factory. After taking a look at the car, the two days I had to work on it weren't going to cut it. This was more like a four day job, so I had to neglect a few less...

best way washing really dirty car?

I think he's talking about the potential for damage from the water pressure itself on the paint and/or trim. Also, in repsonse to your earlier post, I feel the most effective method is foam it, let it dwell, rinse, refoam without rinsing, and straight to the two-bucket wash. In my logic, it...

The beauty of black paint SL55 and Opti Coat

What gauge do you have? I recently bought a Defelsko 200 Advanced with the 6000 probe also, and it is one heck of a nice paint thickness gauge.

The beauty of black paint SL55 and Opti Coat

Looks like you have your work cut out. I noticed a good amount of orange peel in one of the pictures, so at least you have plenty of paint to work with (assuming the paint is original).
