    Are Nissan paints better?

A follow-up question: What car brands have better paint?

    Are Nissan paints better?

Good to know, I guess looks are deceiving. There are a few maximas in our neighborhood that look very slick. I guess the owners are members of this forum. BTW, sorry for my bad English.

    Are Nissan paints better?

Since I did my first semi-decent paint restoration and detailing job, I'm paying more attention to car paint when I take daily walks. I especially pay attention to white cars as 2/3 of my cars are white. I swear Nissan paint (especially white) is one of the nicer and glossier or alternatively...

this is really why bird dropings are harmful

from: Bird poo paint damage explained - how to protect your car |#CarAdvice The explanation totally makes sense as uric acid is very weak and unlikely to be harmful chemically. But, I don't see how any type of wax/coating can protect from dried droppings and temp cycling of paint. They can make...

Best way to fix this scratch??

I'm afraid people on this forum don't use products from that brand. I googled and found this: http://www.turtlewax.com/product-detail.aspx?prodid=70 Looks like a resin to put in clear coat defect and then wet sand it to make it flat. Since your scratch is white on black paint, I assume your...

    my first OC2 project

Thanks Chris! Today is 7 days post the first application. I tested for beads and some flat spots on roof had very large flat beads: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/off-topic/43346-post-your-beading-shots-21.html#post901053 That confirmed my suspicion I used too little OC2 on the first...

    Post Your Beading Shots!!!

Thanks! The reason I asked I used too little OC2 and my beads on roof were conspicuously large. Fine in other spots. I went ahead and applied a second layer today. These are pre-second layer OC2 pictures:

What is the meaning of different sizes of water beads? Ie: is bigger better (serious question)?

    Opti-coat : bird poo fail?!?

IMHO (after doing one car), The rate of OC2 application is so low and most if it is solvents anyhow, it's not realistic to expect a continuous layer of OC2 resin after it cures. More like microscopic spots here and there (I may need to play with my microscope to prove it). Enough to repel water...

    my first OC2 project

Thank you all for feedback. Here is my plan: I will try to wet the car gently this weekend (7 days post application) and look for water beading. If I find spots with no water beading, I will redo the application. In case I decide to redo it, should I do full car wash with Down and IPA wash...
