    Introducing!! Pinnacle black label!!!

I don't think I could handle going "years" without polishing or something on my vehicles. Even if the coating was the end-all be-all to my satisfaction, I'd probalby repolish seasonally anyways to revibe the perfect finish and reapply. A waste?? Mabye. But like I said. wouldn't be able to...

    Introducing!! Pinnacle black label!!!

A little more on applying a wax (or other favorite LSP) over the diamond paint coating...is it recommended or only personal preference to achieve a certian appearance? Won't applying anything over the Black Label coating then give you the surface characteristics (appearance, beading qualities...

    Ducati Satin Paint Care??

Did some searching and watched some videos, etc. WOW…don't know if I'm ready for that or not?!?! I don't know how I'd handle not being able to wax and polish on my stuff,LOL.

    Ducati Satin Paint Care??

Rreeeeeaaaaallllllyyyyy?? Interesting! So to hit that paint/finish up with some 105 will make it shiney? Does it completely polish it out to a perfectly normal finish? Guess that's what I'm trying to learn is how you'd "finish" the surface to make it LSP ready. I ask that question cause...

    Ducati Satin Paint Care??

So I'm putting this in the moto section on the chance someone may be familiar with the Ducati satin white paint finish on the 848 and the fourthcoming 899 (899 will be the same color/finish as the current white 848's). What's the typical care recipe for this (or any satin finish as far as...

SHINE IT LIKE YOU MEAN IT! Shelby Cobra meets the Microfiber DA system!

I think they should! The orange peel in new Ford vehicles these days borders on criminal! Sorry for the revive but I just had to share this succes story on another forum discussing orange peel.

    Ipa

Just for FYI if it bears on the conversation, I was looking into the IPA wipedown in an effort to prepare the surface for LSP work and not necessairly killing myself on inspecting the final product. If you go from polishing (say M205) and the next product has a cleaner in it, would a wipedown...

    Ipa

For an IPA wipedown after a polish, or just whenever, do you guys dillute? Do you use 70% straight out of the bottle? Thanks for any tips.

    XMT 360 Fail??

My whole swapping to a white pad or vice versa was simply a step in experimentation. I did not necessarily progress from black to white. It was just posted as FYI that both pads did the same thing. I did an IPA wipe and a sealer/glaze step before the LSP after I was done playing around.

    XMT 360 Fail??

I tried, sorry. I just couldn't capture it in a picture. I tried to give a good description though. I also just don't see the polisher being the culprit since it's a 3401 and not a rotary…and with a black pad??

    Need Product Recommendation

Isn't that what everyone wants? The purpose of this thread though is to find a good product to use which cleans/preps the surface when outright correction isn't needed for the LSP to hold up well.

    Need Product Recommendation

Looking for a recommendation on an inbetween product! XMT 180 is my current favorite LSP as I love what it does for the color and the finish! But I have discovered that it tends to work, and especially last, much better on a well prepped surface (as opposed to just throwing on another coat...

    XMT 360 Fail??

Based on my (basic) understanding of polishes, I don't see this to be the case. A glaze or something, yes. But not a polish. The 205 shouldn't "fill in" blemishes, it should remove them; within its capability of course. Besides, as you'll read below, I did an IPA wipedown between the 205 and...

    XMT 360 Fail??

Well, here's an update for you if interested. Was doing a full detail on the truck again. Got it cleaned and clayed, one very quick, light, once over on a few spots with M205 to make some corrections, then off to try the 360 again. And yet again, the 360 did not work out so good for me. I...

    XMT 180 Over 360

I use the XMT car wash; love it. I tried the 360 spray wax and still have some out in the cabinet. I really like the finish, but believe it or not, Mother's is my go-to spray wax. I have found for me, the 360 is gone with the next wash where as the Mother's I can get a solid two maybe three...

    XMT 180 Over 360

So how's this recipe sound?? Gonna try 360 topped with a coat or two of 180! But, my reason for posting is just looking for moral support to back my logic on using the 360. My finish is about as perfect as it's going to get. I finish up about once a year with 205, which give me a finish that...

    XMT 360 Fail??

OK, so I'm thinking it was a pad priming issue. Since I was just doing a little test spot, like I said, I didn't really prime the surface of the pad. Yesterday, I grabbed a black pad and primed the surface like I normally would. Finish turned out great! I wouldn't have thought a black pad...

    XMT 360 Fail??

5.5" pads. There's no way 4 vs 5 on the speed would make a difference with this scenario.

    XMT 360 Fail??

Would it be safe to assume we all agree that it surely wasn't pad selection (either the black or the white) or polisher speed?? I'm kinda wondering if maybe I didn't have the pad primed or covered food enough?? Seems the black pad is gentle enough that this shouldn't matter though, no??

    XMT 360 Fail??

No, but there was no dusting. Used a QD to get any 205 reminants off. Was not a factor.
