Will the eraser pad hurt the paint at all? Do I just attach it to me drill, put it flat on the vinyl and go?

I bought my Mustang used and it came with vinyl stripes. The previous owner must have gotten bad stripes because they are cracked and stained. I tried removing them with a blow dryer and some goo gone but it didn't work. The stripe came off in little pieces. Any ideas on how I can get this...

I just bought a PC and was contemplating what size pad I should get. I've read many different viewpoints. From what I can tell, it seems like the 5.5" pads are the way to go. If the PC can get bogged down by the 6.5" pads then why are all the kits sold with 6.5" pads?

Do I need to spray a conditioner or anything else onto a pad before I use it? I've heard it's not a good idea to start polishing with a dry pad.
