Just a clarification on the decibel rating system. Every 3 decibels is double. So a 9 decibel change is actually 9 times louder. That is pretty significant. 10 decibels is 10 times louder, 100 is 100 times louder.

Hmmmm Iron-x by itself should not melt the Nanoskin. However Trix by Carpro (iron-x and tar remover together) will.

You didnt happen to use any tar remover on the car after the wash did you. I know for a fact tar removers melt the material nanoskin is made of. To me it looks like you hit a spot of tar remover, heat would habe caused more streaking like appearance and not happened as suddenly as yours seems...
