How did you organize your supplies?

NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I had a great reply written and the server fubarred when I went to post :( Now for the rewrite: I typically use bigger sterilite containers I got from wallyworld. They're very easy to clean and are clear so I can see what is in each. I have 2 larger 34 quart...

The AG order is coming, where do we start?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you should glaze before sealing, so 5 and 6 should be reversed. The first detail is always the toughest, but once the paint is finished and swirl/contaminant free, you will not have to do near as much work on it in the future. Typically you will wash the car on a...

    What's color sanding?

Mike does an excellent job of explaining it here It's essentially a term which came about when wetsanding a single stage paint system but has come by many to include clearcoat finishes as well. It is used generally immediately after painting to remove any orange peel and unevenness to a cars'...

    Question about claying

Really if you do a good job washing, and use plenty of lube while claying, and make sure to fold/knead the clay often you shouldn't have a problem with marring at all. If you do, it is most likely small spot repairs which can be knocked down quickly. Remember though to rewash after claying to...

    chemical on plastic trim

Yeah, I assume you're thinking polish/wax residue. Poorboy's trim restorer on a rag works phenominal. Takes off the residue and moisturizes the trim as well.

    Perfect Wax For winter

But the reason to use a wax in my opinion is to essentially make the sealant 'pop' if you will. Collinite lasts a heluva long time, but really lacks that 'pop' that a lot of other waxes have, and dare I say it, isn't near as deep as WGDGPS. That in my book makes me wonder why to top DGPS with...

    Perfect Wax For winter

For winter to be honest, I'd just stick with the sealant. Maybe go to a 3rd coat, but forego the wax altogether. You aren't really going to be gaining anything over winter by topping with a wax that will wear off fairly soon. You can top the sealant with your fuzion for a temporary pop, but...

do you multi stage or AIO?

    I generally market it as a wash/clay/one step polish/sealant.

do you multi stage or AIO?

Yeah, it really depends on what the owner wants as to what I do. If they want a good multi-step to last, I generally do 105/205/klasse aio/klasse hgsg topped with sig. series II, but for most quick jobs its just a good wash/clay/klasse aio.

    1st "True" Engine Detail

Looks great! I love detailing engine bays! I clean mine about every chance I get! If you come across exposed metal like the letters or the intake manifold which have oxidized (or slightly pitted in the letters' case), you can actually sand them with 1000 grit followed by a 2000 grit wetsand...

    Wet sanding clearcoat

Can you take pictures of the damage? Odds are that the egg shell shattered the paint like this which will require a repaint as it is through the paint.

    Disappointing products

Actually CCS's (8.5" for rotary) are my big disappointment as well. I found that getting little bits of compound out of the little divots was a pain, and my blue finessing pad lasted all of 2 cars before it gave out (application surface breaking apart and bits of foam over car) using it with...

    Polishing aluminum?

The front wheels would be easy. The tank will be a little tougher, but will be a lot easier if you remove the steps. The rear is a bit of a pain though. Something like the mother's powerball would make it a lot easier. As for pads, generally i've used wool pads with aluminum with a rotary...

    highest shine dressing/protectant

Yay integra's being 99% vinyl interiors :) (yes that includes the headliner) I really like a high gloss to my dash. Haven't had a problem with glare yet on it even though you can see its reflection in the windshield on occasion. I really like to use Meg's #40. The nice thing about 40 is that...
