    Got a new SUV:)

Why an SUV? Same reason I got a crossover SUV - convenient storage and good mileage. I like it for my golf clubs and other stuff, my wife loves it for shopping and we both love it for antique hunting. Also, I've been in a Sorento, they have plenty of room. Just because you don't like it is...

Congrats. I like the look of the Sorento, and that red is very nice.

going to be a rough week

Yup, not having a job is certainly worse than working OT. And think of all the goodies you can buy with the extra bucks.

    anything between UC and 845?

:iagree: I'm with Dave. While UC will finish quite nicely and is probably good enough for most folks, I like to follow with a finish polish like WG Finishing Glaze (same as Menz 106) or Meg's Ultimate Polish for the extra gloss. We just did my nephew's car - an 04 Ion - and followed with a...

    Another UPS "Damaged in Transit"

I'd agree if it wasn't for the fact that I order quite a bit of non-detailing liquid stuff from other vendors and don't have this problem. Now, it could be that AG needs to tape the lids to their liquids. A lot of packages I get have the lids taped to prevent loosening. I don't recall...

    Another UPS "Damaged in Transit"

Ordered several items from AG using the 20% off VIP and free shipping for Mike P's anni. AG, of course, shipped promptly the next day - July 20. Thought I would have the package by the following Monday. When it didn't arrive I checked the UPS site with the tracking number. By the tracking...

    Advice needed-One step before OC

With the OC you won't have to wax it at all. In fact, Optimum recommends not putting any wax or sealant on top of OC as they simply won't stick and will wash off rather quickly. So, alll you need do after OC is a gentle wash when dirty.

    water blade

Yup. Never understood how people could get literally hysterical about which mf to use and then scrape a rubber squeegee over their paint to remove water.

Can I clean Meguiars DA Microfiber Cutting Disc with ...?

The brush will work if you don't have an air compressor. Others have reportedly used a bug sponge with great results. I haven't seen anyone mention radioactive napalm or a chain saw, so you can probably cross those off your list.

    Products stored in Garage

Move 'em inside during winter. Most of the products we use should not be allowed to freeze.

    Wax remover

I've had great success with clay and some QD. I also tried WD40 (from another post) the other day and it worked quite well.

Can you finish off with M205

Yes. There are many posts here on using 205 (or Menz 106 or 85RD) with the mf finishing pad. Reportedly works great.

    Lake country pads

Get the 5.5" flat pads. The PCXP does not do well with the larger 6.5" pads. Some like the Hydro-Tec pads, I'm not a fan, the flat pads remain the most popular. Get a 6 pack, it's cheaper that way. 2 orange, 2 white, 1 black and 1 blue should do it. The orange and white are for the 105...

    What's The Best Swirl Remover

Do you currently have any pads or products? A little info on what you have and what you've already done will go a loooong way to helping you choose the right products on a reasonable budget, unless you're filthy rich and budget is not a concern. We're not clairvoyant here, so help us help you.

    Black Wow, dye, or paint?

Depends on how shot they are. I've had great success claying off the degraded surface. Did it on my nephew's 04 Ion that sat outside since day 1 with no real care. Worked great. Then I protected with UTTG. If the clay doesn't work, I'd go with a commerical dye, paint looks tacky.

    What's The Best Swirl Remover

Like mobile deatil said, this is personal opinion. What do you already have, if anything? Do you plan to do by hand (doesn't work well) or do you have/plan to buy a DA?

    Advice needed-One step before OC

Depends on what products and pads you already have. You mention UC and 205, so I assume you have those. While UC on an orange pad will finish nearly LSP ready depending on the paint, I'd still come back with 205 (or UP or Menz 106) on a black pad to gloss the paint. UC finished so nice it...

    leather cleaner

As long as your leather isn't heavily soiled it does work extremely well. I use it on my wife's ES350, but cut 16:1. If found 10:1 a bit too soapy. Like high-priced waxes, I think most of the effect of "leather cleaners" is in the eye of the beholder.

Mike Phillips. Now all you have to do is charge enough to cover what you have to pay him.
