    Too Much Pressure?

Yup. Like Mike P noted in several articles, if you're deflecting the panel you're pressing too hard.

Need Website Name Ideas- My thoughts are taken

While you may feel that shinetimedetail.com is too long, it does have some advantages. Not the least of which is m fav saying "sometimes the words just give it away". It's not like people will be typing your domain to try to find you. People do searches and then bookmark sites. Pick a name...

Not only fast, but also very good advice.

    Sealant setting time

Collinite 845. It's a polymer-carnuba hybrid. Very nice stuff. But... I do think you're being overly concerned over nothing.

    Sealant setting time

Just because a sealant has a recommended full-cure time of 12 hrs doesn't mean you can't drive it. It's not like the coating is gonna fly off as you drive down the road. The full-cure time is mfg recommendation to fully cross-link for re-coat and before getting it wet. And, like Mark said...

Then just use a piece of old bath or dish towel.

Some insight needed with Ultima Trim & Tire Guard

Mine are ridged too. Use a terry-cloth covered applicator. You can wipe with and against the grooves. You'll use a little more product than a plain foam one, but not all that much.

    Wash Sponge/MIT recommendation?

I like the chennile type microfiber wash mitts similar to the Cobra. Like 5 bucks at Wally World.

Some insight needed with Ultima Trim & Tire Guard

Like Corey and Bobby said, use VERY little. In fact, my experience is at first if you think you're using too little, you're probably using too much. I use a regular yellow foam applicator - I don't like the huge sponge that it comes with. I put 3 - 4 DROPS near the edge of the pad and that...

Car Soap, I'm running out, but can't decide

I don't want a wash with a wax in it because I don't want that to interfere with the wax or sealant I choose to apply. I haven't tried the NXT because Wally World doesn't put it on sale like they do with the Gold Class. Meguiar's also notes GC as a mild shampoo that won't strip wax. And, NXT...

    first paint correction

Umm, that's why you do a test spot. I understand you want to have everything on-hand before you start, but that may not be realistic in this instance unless you wanna spend a ton of money up front and not use most of the products. UC is not that much diff from the 105 you already have, so...

Car Soap, I'm running out, but can't decide

True dat, Corey. Like I said in another post, the products at this level are mostly so good it's really a matter of personal pref. I also agree on the Opt being a little better than Gold Class. But to me the diff is so little that it's a no-brainer when Wally World runs one of its stupid...

Opti-Coat 2.0 and Ceramic Quartz (Additional Videos)

CQ definitely sheets and and beads better with 2 coats. I did 2 on my wife's hood and it's quite amazing. A shot or two of ReLoad bumps it even further. As is true of everything, both of these products have their pluses and minuses. but both are excellent at protecting your finish - a...

Are these rust spots? Need help

Personally I would not touch it. The large spot looks like subsurface rust that bubbled the paint and came thru or a chip that rusted. Take it back to the dealership. If you screw with it there is a chance you make it worse or hide what the true cause is and void the warranty.

Mike P comments that ScratchX doesn't work too well with a DA. Check this link: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/hot-topics-frequently-asked-questions/23561-smat-pack-everything-you-ever-wanted-know-about-meguiar-s-smat-products.html Maybe SwirlX - it's a little more aggressive than 205...

    need help with wheels

If a wheel sealant like DP is too time consuming for you then your options are very limited. You could try the new spray-on Amor All. Some say it works, some say it doesn't.

WHEELS -- OPTI-SEAL on top of 3 coats of Poorboy's Wheel Sealant...

Yup, I could easily do that, and have in the past. Now I stop myself when I've accomplished what I wanted. Will I try other products? Sure...but only when I've almost run out of what I'm already using. It's easier on the pocket that way.

Surfactants in soap good or bad?

I think the Meg's claim is a typo. They probably meant to say that it does not contain aggressive surfactants since all soaps and detergents are, by definition, surfactants. Anyway, the MSDS clearly shows the Meg has surfactants. As far as the difference between soap and detergents, soaps are...

WHEELS -- OPTI-SEAL on top of 3 coats of Poorboy's Wheel Sealant...

You got that one nailed, bro! When I decided to make the plunge into machine polishing because the had work was just too tough and not getting it done, I hit several sites and forums. I settled on AG because there was a wider rage of products being discussed. How did I pick? I read a lot of...

UC is about the same as 105 so I wouldn't bother picking up UC. Here's a link to Mike P's article on Megs polishes: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/hot-topics-frequently-asked-questions/23583-aggressiveness-order-smat-products-might-surprise-you.html.
