    I wouldn't wash your engine at a coin op unless it's next door. You should never wash a hot engine.

    Interesting experiment but light meters are not really for this type of use. They can be very inconsistent depending on where you place the sensor.

    It sounds like you are describing micro marring. If so the next finest pad and polish should remove it.

    Since it catches your nail you won't be of the completely remove the marks but you can make it look better. What polishes do have available to you? If none you should be able to find Meguiar's Ultimate Compound and Ultimate Polish locally.

    Start with clay and then a light polish. If that doesn't work step up to the next level polish. Can you catch your nail in the marks?

    Remove that adapter just as you would the backing plate. That is an edge 2000 adapter.
