    Pinstriping removal

My brand new 2011 Ford Edge came with some ugly painted on pin stripes. I tried everything including oven cleaner. Lacquer thinner worked the best and did not damage the clear coat. I just dabbed some on a rag and kept rubbing little sections at a time being careful to not let it sit on the...

    Collinite observations

How are you guys getting good durability from 845? Do you live in a nicer climate then me (Michigan)? Are you putting it over a sealant? It just doesn't seem to last very long for me when I use it as a stand alone product after proper prep and clay.

    Collinite observations

Same here. Z2 and DG 105 outlasted it by a huge margin. I'm using up my bottle of 845 on the Rents vehicles. My next test is gonna be DG 111 vs Z2.

    Using WD40 to remove tar

I just use grease & wax remover. WD40 never worked good on tar for me.

What do you guys use for your headlights???

Always use the same sealant I'm using on the body. Pretty much Z-2 or a Duragloss product. It must work cuz I've never had headlight housings yellow or fog over. Only Fords since 1977.

    Duragloss users - info needed

I'm just putting in an order for this combo. Hoping the 111/601 is as durable as the old Zaino Z1/Z2 combo. I've always heard that 111 and Z2 are very similar so I gotta see for myself.

    Fabric / Carpet protector

I'm over two years and my cloth seats still bead water!!!! You would think it would wear out pretty quick on a seating surface.

    Most durable winter sealant?

"It was the ZFX that would drop my jaw." Agree!!! I really miss Zaino's 601 equivalent Z-1. I wonder why they stopped offering it.

    Most durable winter sealant?

I've done a few tests over the years and found that Z-2 outlasts the 601/105 combo by a good margin. Since I'm out of Z-2, I think I'll pick up some 111 and give it a shot. Looks like we are in for another nasty winter here in Michigan!!!!!

Ziebart made a mess of a brand new truck

The big problem with having a place like Ziebart undercoat a vehicle is that they usually don't do the proper prep work and spray it on way to thick. A bad undercoat job can actually speed up the rusting process by trapping salt water between the undercoat and metal. If done and maintained...

Ziebart made a mess of a brand new truck

I always used grease and wax remover to remove undercoat over spray. Since I live in a wicked salt-belt I always undercoat my vehicles to keep the undercarriage from turning into a rusty mess. I do a light coat of 3m undercoat MYSELF and touch it up every fall. Many moons ago I did make the...

removing oil, sludge in the engine bay

Gunk reminds me of the good old days!!!! That stuff always worked fantastic when I worked on old beaters. I still keep a couple cans around for the lawn equipment.

Lets chat about 303 on interiors...

For years I used it on my tires because of the matte finish it would leave. Got kinda expensive so I switched to Natural Shine. Can't stand shiny tires!!!! I only use 303 on interiors these days.

    Matt Black Tire Treatment

I also don't like the wet look so I use either 303 or Natural shine.

What's a better LSP: DG 601/105, PNS, OOS?

I recently went back to Z-2 after trying Col. 845 and DG 105/601. So far, I have not found a better sealant then Z-2 to get me through a salt infested Michigan winter. After being away from the Z for 2 years, I really appreciate how easy it is to apply by hand. A little really does go a...

what do you guys think of Scotch guard fabric protectant?

I used Scotchguard for many years but was never happy with it's durability or water resistance on cloth seats. After 2 years, my initial application of 303 is still going strong in my Daily Driver. I just don't see the point of SG when there are a few others out there that last 10 times longer...

how do I remove Rain-X residue on windshield?

Been using RainX for years and never noticed any residue after it lost it's effectiveness. The big trick during application is to use a few drops of water on a fresh MF towel when wiping it off.

    Palm Polisher

The Harbor Freight number is 90219 6" Compact Palm Polisher. I'm sure it's cheap Chinese quality but the one I got is smooth and very quiet. They also have the 69487 which appears to be replacing the 90219 but looks and feels like it's a lower quality machine. My local HF had both.

    Palm Polisher

Hit the MKX today with the HF palm polisher. Worked fantastic to lay down a quick coat of DG105!!! I used a red Griots pad and did the whole job with one hand. I know this type of machine is not popular here but it really was a pleasure to use. Would be a lifesaver for those with tennis or...
