The foam brushes leave streaks plus, they are a heck of a lot more exspensive than the blue scott towels. I'd stick with the scott's.

I fold the blue scott towel in half and then cut a 2 - 2 1/2" strip out. I fold that strip in half and then dip the folded side in the mix, pull it out and let it absorb for a few seconds and then wipe it on. Works great! No streaks.

Yeah, I like the 3M 3000 trizact discs for the final step of sanding. I use sheets for the other steps though. Much cheaper and actually seems quicker too. The 9" X 11" sheets are $15.00 for a box of 50 sheets and you only need about 1/8 of each grit sheet to do a set of lights.

I am curious about the brand and type of sandpaper everyone uses too. I found a website where I get a 50 pack box of any grit up to 3000, 9" X 11" wet/dry paper for $15.00 It is Silicone Carbide. What does everyone else use?

The only advice I have is to pursue used car dealers. I've done the flyers and leaving business cards with absolutely no luck. Most people NEED for you to explain thoroughly exactly what you do before they will let go of the money. I think that they feel you are charging ?$$$ just to buff them...

The mixing is certainly a possibility. I had a problem with that myself once when I mixed too much Mineral Spirits and thinned it just a smidg more than I should. It looked great for a few months and then started streaking and wearing off completely. Yikes! I greatly appreciate your efforts. Thanks!
