    M205 and LC Orange...

I didn't remove every single defect. There are some RIDS that I didn't get out, but I'd say 95% of the defects are gone. I did IPA wipedowns after every section and did comparisons to the 'undone' section to make sure that the Brinkmann was showing me what I wanted (or rather didn't want) to...

    M205 and LC Orange...

FYI... swap 205 and 105 in this post. I used the 105 with an orange pad and was going to go to a middle step with white/205, then finish with the 85rd.

    M205 and LC Orange...

Today I started the project of correcting the paint on my truck. It was mildly swirled up with some rids (and some dents here and there but nothing I can do about them. I washed and clayed the truck. It didn't need the clay since I just did it a few weeks ago, but I'd rather be safe than...

Pressure Washer for Foam Cannon HP

Snap-On doesn't have to, Costco does. They're good like that with a lot of things... including Xbox360's. If it RRODs, just bring it back and get a new one.

    01 Audi TT Pitting

I'm no expert and just a learning noob myself, but I'd say that you need to go up to a white or even black pad with some 205 to finish off the... finish. After that, if you still notice the imperfections, you could work in a glaze that is going to cover/fill the majority of the last of them...

It is almost time... to purchase (beware LONG)

Well, it is a done deal. I went with the Meguiars 105/205 PC2474XP combo kit. I added a 6 pack of 5.5 pads (2 yellow 2 white 2 blue), a bonnet kit, guzzler pack, brinkmann light, and DP pad rejuv. That gives me 2 Yellow, 3 orange, 2 white, 2 black, 2 blue, and 2 red along with the lamb/micro...

It is almost time... to purchase (beware LONG)

I've been browsing, reading, researching, and trying to decide. I've proably got $400 worth of various different OTC and ordered products that I've been testing and using over the last couple months. Tonight, while walking back to my car, I caught a glimpse of it at an angle with a light in...

Did a little playing after work with WG & DP tire gels

This is very interesting. At first, I really liked the top left side of the tire (DP). It looks clean and has a bit of shine, but is muted and a little matte. The WG looks soaking wet and way minty. After 12 hours, I'm not so sure that my opinion is the same. The DP still looks good, but I...

Question about the wheels cleaning process.

That's exactly what I do. First pass I go through and wash the wheels, wells, and tires. I rinse the wheels and spray down the whole car. I rinse the buckets and refill then do the car.

Auto Glym HI-DEF Wax worth the $35? vs Collinite 915?

Due to impending rain, I wanted to get the vehicles done ASAP so I didn't get any pics during. I did get a few shots today. It is gray and misty out. Not really raining, but a thick mist. I've got some nice "wet look" pics. ;) Here are the results: Hood Pics: Roof: Edit: No that isn't...

    Every weekend...

I've been washing my car and truck (which gets driven maybe once a week) every weekend. They're constantly covered in pollen and minor crap (the daily driver) and I can't stand that I spent so many hours detailing them to let them get dirty. My roomate and my neighbor are CONSTANTLY busting...

    Door Jam

I use some of my older microfibers, a 2 gallon rinse bucket, and two spray bottles. One with some car wash and warm water. The other with clean water. Spray down the door jams and let it soak, get in there and clean things up (rinsing and wringing it out damp when needed), then spraying down...

    Best Compliment Ever...

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, but I can kinda see it. The '02 Deville DTS and '03 Ranger FX4 really aren't night & day different from their current counterparts. Given that the Ranger only has 50k on the clock (and although it has some dings and dents, it is CLEAN) and the DTS has 117k...

    Best Compliment Ever...

I was out there washing and waxing the car and truck. I just finished and a friend of my roomates' walks up. Fishing for compliments after a few hours on the vehicles I say, "Please tell me they look good." The guy replies, "They look good. New cars always look good though, give it a few...

Auto Glym HI-DEF Wax worth the $35? vs Collinite 915?

Well, I just picked up a box. 35 bucks for the 5.3oz of wax, two applicator pads, and a microfiber cloth. Other than washing, waxing, claying, and a Meg's #7 polish, and Meg's Gold class... all done by hand about a month ago, I've done no corrections to the car. It has light-mild swirling...

    recommendations to restore these headlights?

I had a problem with my car's headlights that made them look similar. They were slightly yellowed, scratched and pitted to hell, and looked really bad. I took just under two hours per headlight to slowly and methodically wet sand them down flat and clean. 600, 800, 1000, 1500, then 2000. I...

Pads - how many of which?

I've got two decent sized vehicles (Ranger and Deville). Do you still suggest 2 pads per color? The paint is in decent condition. Some swirling, but I try to take care of them by hand as much as I can. Since i'm planning on going with a machine (PCXP) in the near future, I was looking at the...
