i only use Black Label Diamond Surface Coating, regularly i wash and enjoy applying a good Carnuba wax.

i coated mine with black label diamond surface coating, roughly 6 months and still going strong. even with the wife using a bleach cleaner in the shower, just mentioned trying to not spray the glass

in most cases, a simple cleaner wax does wonders...by that i do mean a slight abrasive wax ( MEQUIARS CLEANER WAX ).

i will add this, when doing a customer car and being asked about ceramic coatings...i always steer away from ceramic on show cars and bikes...typically the owner gets some enjoyment out of the SHINY appearance of a good fresh wax. not that a coating couldnt be topped with wax, most expect that...

i can concur with the black...i did chrome lower legs, inner & outer primary and all controls and apes. i can almost guaranty that had i still had that bike...every part on it would be coated with Pinnacle diamond shine coating.

i think it would take 2 products to achieve... one that shines and sparkles, the other that has a clean more matte finish obviously, no sling, water based and long lasting i prefer a clean, matte finish...just a clean appearance

you could try a cleaner wax, something with a very light abrasive. not as harsh as a polish or compound if you are worried... personaly i like keep a bottle of mequiars ultimate polish around just for these reasons...it is a very simple on/off process with no damage to any surface i have used...

personally after having done my Black Road King numerous times...i always reverted to polishing by hand. unfortunately, i never did a coating. being the type of vehicle i enjoyed breaking down to clean, i always preferred polishing and waxing. just had a deeper appearance when complete.

best way to start learning...AUTO SALVAGE YARD, go buy the cheapest hood you can find. Buff away. read up first and understand what is actually happening, over heating can kill the paint instantly.

as an alternative, i regularly hit polished and painted wheels...heck, all for that matter with Meguiars Ultimate Polish for quick shine... then usually a spray wax or the like.

i prefer a water based tire dressing...i like a CLEAN non greasy appearance. also cannot stand the sling of petroleum based gels.
