Haha so far only Lrc3 seems to feel my pain. I think the problem is i've also got a white car! She's so well behaved and easy to get along with she makes the black sheep look bad.

Here's my regimen for what it's worth. So if I were doing a new car first thing I would do is buy a PC DA. Then I'd wash, dry, iron-x, Rinse, dry, and decontaminate with the auto scrub wash mitt. Then I'd do a two-step polish with a white pad and light swirl remover like M205. Then a black pad...

The hood of my car is in the shop being re-repainted (1st repair blistering) at this very second after I did what your planning to do. (Sanded right through the factory clear!) Now I dab a little paint into a chip, walk away and get the hell on with my life.

I agree with the folks who suggest removing the pieces to spray paint, but those bits look well worn. Finding a perfect match will be darn near impossible, so I'd want to paint all matching pieces in the cabin. I'd also look for something formulated for durability in the hardware store, I don't...

Gotta agree here! If your at all sensitive to swirl marks, black just aint for you. Beyound that to answer your ?. I'd suggest.... Dont let the dealer wash or otherwise prep the piant. Get 1 of the top coatings on it asap. Then use rinsless products, 30 - 45 min a week and your good.
