New car, been a while since I've been around

Well, I finally caught a break in the weather and did a full on detail on my car. I didn't take any pics during the process, I wanted to get finished. Did a 2 bucket wash with my foam gun using chemical guys citrus wash and gloss at 1 ounce per gallon to strip anything off the paint...

Problem with glue(?) On new car wheels

Thanks for the replies everyone, I will try the wd40 on the other glue spots before I try the other stuff again. Just wish it would get warm enough to wash! Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

Problem with glue(?) On new car wheels

I didn't even think about wd40. Two quick passes by hand on a MF applicator with the UC got it right off of there though. So I'll just do that for the other spots. It's almost like the glue got hard somehow? Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

Problem with glue(?) On new car wheels

Looks like some ultimate polish got it right off of there. Not sure what happened to it, it wasn't sticky at all after the goof off stuff. Weird. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

New car, been a while since I've been around

Ok, I had read all the threads about how long 845 lasted and how durable it was, the 915 is even better? Or does the 476s last longest? I'm so confused now, too many options. I just want a good combo that I can reapply every 4 to 6 months and keep the car looking good and have some protection on...

New car, been a while since I've been around

Thanks everyone, I am lucky that I didn't get the DISO option when I bought this car. I have decided to use the jescar powerlock and the collinite 845 combo for the car, just waiting for warmer weather to get that on it.

Problem with glue(?) On new car wheels

Yes they are clear coated. I've used that 3m adhesive remove on cars before to get tar off. I'll grab some and some compound and see what I can do. I guess I should mention the spots are no longer sticky. I also tried la totally awesome full strength and no dice. Only let it dwell about 10...

Problem with glue(?) On new car wheels

So I got this new Subaru outback and some of the glue from the shipping wheel protectors appears to be stuck on the wheels. Mothers wheel cleaner didn't faze it so I hit it with some goo gone. It looked like it got the stuff but really just smeared it around. Now, it's a hazy spot that I can't...

    2016 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic -- Red

Problem with the lowers on the HD bikes is they are clearcoated aluminum. When I had my superglide, I took the lowers off and stripped the clear, wetsanded them all the way up to 3000 and then compounded and polished on a stand buffer. Lots of work but they looked like chrome.

What about the WGDGPS 3.0 vs the PNS?

New car, been a while since I've been around

As far as pad choices go, I am looking at the LC flat pads in 5.5". I have this new car, my old car, and some others I want to do for family. Looking at getting 12 orange, 12 white, and 6 black for pad duty. Is that a good selection? I won't be doing any jewelling or anything where I would want...

New car, been a while since I've been around

My guards look just like the ones AG sells now, dunno. What would a good dedicated polish be? 205? I am looking hard at the CMX now, looks like a nice product. Does the sonax ruin towels like the mothers does?

Yes, two guards in each bucket. Living at the end of a mile of gravel/dirt road makes for some very dirty vehicles, so two guards keeps more of the water still in the bucket to keep the dirt down there. I can't remember where I saw someone using two for that. They're cheap enough, why not?

I do the two bucket wash method with two grit guards in each bucket, and I use upper and lower wash mitts. Getting a foamaster as well when I finally decide what to get for protection. Leaning towards the CMX or PNS. Would klasse AIO still be a good cleaner step before applying either of these...

New car, been a while since I've been around

SO with the PNS or CMX, looks like you just spray some on the panel and spread it around, wait for it to dry then wipe off? Is there any type of swirl protection from washing with these products, or would I need to do an actual coating? Would a product like opti coat be good topped with...

So CMX would be a much better option? Seems easier to apply as well. What would the maintenance or topping for CMX be? I know its a new product, but is there any sort of life expectancy for it? I think my biggest question is what is a good product for price/ease of maintenance? I don't mind...

New car, been a while since I've been around

This is a daily driver, I only do about 20 miles a day though. It is garaged at all times unless being driven. Any reason the klasse SG is not a favorite? Seems to get a lot of love around here.

New car, been a while since I've been around

So, back in 2012 I bought a new car and took relatively good care of it from the advice of everyone on here. Thank you! But I just got a new car, and not sure how to proceed. I washed it extremely carefully and on the entire car I can only find one little swirl scratch, small enough my camera...
