I spray a fine mist of diluted fabric softener, let dry, than use a pet hair brush to pick up the hair. The softener helps remove the static in the hair. Works great for me. I also get a lot of cars with pet all over.

You're a good man! He's lucky you're not a hot head (at the time?) and you're not introducing him to Mr. Knuckles. Some people just don't respect other's property. I see things like this all the time, and I think what the 6-21-3-11 is your problem.
Pinnacle Souverän Carnauba Wax is great...
Wow, really enjoyed reading this thread. There are many pros & cons opinions posted. Dr. Pain, I appreciate you playing "devil's advocate" your posts makes you think if one’s insurance policies truly offer what the detailing business owner requires...”Protection”. When someone chooses to have...
Thanks for the information. My usage of the steamer would be a second option to my extractor at least in the beginning. Using the steamer as part of a disinfecting process on seat, vents, cupholders. My extractor would be for the carpets.
I have an extractor and it's a great tool to have. I feel a streamer would help for some of those hard to get places plus speed up the cleaning process.
I've read great things about the Dupray and VX5000, however I'm looking at either Vapamore or Mytee. I'm hoping to get the better of the two, and in the future get the VX5000.
I’m going to purchase a steamer this week and your suggestions would be appreciated. I'd like to purchase the VX-5000, but I'm not ready to spend that much at this time. I’m looking at either the Vapamore or Mytee as a starter streamer system. From what I've read they are about the same, the...
:iagree: I'm going to make a binder of pics & pricing plus information why the additional charges! Good idea!!
I'm also working on putting pics on my website what is "Average Condition" because I've had clients tell me they want the average condition price, and when I explain their car is...
How do the people react when you suggest they call another detailer, or wait until spring?
Do you feel you lose new customer future business by closing in winter?
I completely agree with you! I forget who wrote the comment that they close down in the cold months, but was wondering if they answered their phone or not.
Some good ideas above, thanks!
After washing and rinsing with tap water, I use my sprayer to spray the car down with distilled water. I find it gives me more drying time reducing water spots.
I've read some mobile detailing business' close for the winter months, and some start detailing out of their garage.
Those that close down for the winter season completely, what do you tell clients when they call? Do you tell them you're closed for the season? How do you handle this situation?
:iagree: I've already added a few ideas from Renny's book into my 2013 Business Plan. This is a must have book! Started using a yellow highlighter to mark key points, when I realized every word is a key point. This is definitely one of those word-of-mouth things!!
I'm fully self contained, however I inform the client the generator & pressure washer can be noisy to some, will that be a problem for them, 99% tell me they prefer I use their water and power. I've never had a client act put-off, they assume you will be using their P&W. It's nice being fully...
You bring up a very good point. The only reason I had the 100% guarantee was from viewing other websites most made that offer, so it seem to be the standard thing in the detailing business. I prefer not to make that kind of claim, I'm very proud and take pride in my work as well. Thanks again...
This is so true! An example of scammer's; years ago I was a General Manager for a national auto parts/ service center chain and the companies policy was to never deny any customer a refund on any service they rec’d. Their thinking was only 5% of the customers were out to scam the company...
