Just my .02, but I've been using the GG and 6.5 pads no problem. I'm just a weekend warrior, but I've done paint correction, polishing, etc, all with 6.5 pads. You might want to try them first before investing in the separate backing plate and separate pads. Good luck!

I scrub them with simple green and hot water. Works well, but I'm not running a business so I don't use too many applicators to begin with, and rinsing them out doesn't take too long, so cost isn't really a big deal. But I am talking about the nice CCS foam applicators, not the little yellow...

I use them to maintain the leather in my Charger. But when I run out I'm going to try something else, mainly becuase of the smell. Lexol has a strong, pungent smell that lasts for up to a day. I hate driving the car the first 24 hours after I apply the stuff.

Good Lord - did they wash it with a Brillo pad? It was horrible before. Awesome recovery there!
