What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Hi folks, just popping in to say hello. I haven't really been here for a year or so, due to my Mom passing away, me breaking my wrist, and having traded in my GTI for a boring Jetta (that I frankly haven't much enthusiasm to detail). But we're recovering from the family loss, my wrist is on the...

How best to wash and protect for a lazy guy with no garage?

Lazy guy with no garage here. Here's my go-to for weekly washes. Single bucket rinseless wash - Pinnacle rinseless - Lots of small microfibers in the bucket - Fold a wet microfiber into quarters, wipe over a panel, dry with separate large microfiber Wheels - Once paint is clean, spray with...

The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

Yea, I've considered both. But I don't have a garage or easy access to water or power. The water and power are one side of the house, and the driveway is on the other side. It's a pain to drag the hose and power from the far side of the house. So rinseless has been a Godsend. However...I've...

Just when I thought I owned every detailing tool a weekend detailer needed! LOL - 17 pages later and I'm cruising Amazon for WORX products.

Quick rinseless wash and spray wax. The honeycomb grill on these GTI's is such a pain to clean. I use an old, thin, microfiber wrapped around the handle of a small brush to apply Duragloss trim to the insides of the honeycomb grill. Getting the grill done properly takes almost as long as...

    Tipping Point vis-a-vis Detailing

When I bought my 2011 Dodge Charger R/T I googled "wax". Search engine led me here......And now I have a shed filled with waxes, polishes, pads, towels, on and on.

I've used fluid film. Good stuff, but Dear Lord it stinks to heck and back.

    The best drying method/tools?

I do rinseless washes and use a thick microfober towel after each panel is done to dry. It's cheap and cheerful. I too once use the swirl-inducing squeegee blade. No more blade!
