Please help! Meguiar's Gold Class Rich Leather cleaner-conditioner ruined brand new seats !

To those who don't like what I post about Megs hideous cleaner conditioner wipes: we can go about this indefinitely, but what's the point? Do you realize that I have experienced less than pleasant feelings with the product which, at some point, made me think that my seats are ruined? Imagine...

Please help! Meguiar's Gold Class Rich Leather cleaner-conditioner ruined brand new seats !

I have addressed the points raised by the poster quoted above; Here is my reply: 1. I did not misconstrue and confuse greasy with shiny. The product doesn't just give a lot of unnecessary, silocon-rich, Armorall type of shine that you would expect from a tire shiner, but it also makes seats...

What do you use to dry your car?

Chamois never worked for me. I had a silver car back in the years and (as you may guess) swirls and fine scratches weren't a big issue for me, but just the difficulty (as compared to terry cotton cloth I used as alternative to wipe my car in those years) made it unlikely pick for me after trying...

    tree sap on glass, anyone?

Steelwool ---> :props: Compound? Polish? Idk... Tree sap is like a honeyed glue, I would be very surprised if compounds and polishes and pads would remove it ... but then, I never had to remove tree sap from the glass... so I just don't know... Interesting to know how Pros do it.

    tree sap on glass, anyone?

I used in past (with variable success) a paint thinner / lacquer thinner to remove tree sap from the clear coat/paint. But I don't recommend you do that, you may easily do more damage than good if you are not careful.

Using a DA polisher for the first time

There are lots of good videos online and, in fact, I learned how to use my rotary buffer by watching a youtube video. But keep in mind that not all videos are very helpful. Some videos are created for advertisement purposes and most show cars that are in a very good condition to begin with and...

Please help! Meguiar's Gold Class Rich Leather cleaner-conditioner ruined brand new seats !

It's greasy to touch and it shines unnaturally. It's like a shoeshine without added color. Reminds of old cars in used car dealer lots where they put that mega-shine product on 20 years old leather to make it look presentable to certain type of the buyer. I spent an hour wiping it off with...

What do you use to dry your car?

I am not prone to terminology, not sure what others mean by "flooding", but form my personal experience I can tell that: If you do well bucket wash and hose it off with low to medium pressure water you will have only clear water left on your panels (very little if car has some wax left, which...

    2014 New Car Correction - obsidian lexus is350 f-sport

You are correct, I didn't mean to argue to the contrary. My point was about pictures representing the paint condition.

    2014 New Car Correction - obsidian lexus is350 f-sport

The thing about pictures.... they don't show real perfection or imperfection, IMHO. I had some stunning effects on pictures if I had a bright sunshine , blue skies and some shade (like under trees) to park car under and some very bright objects to the side of the car (like wall of the house...

What do you use to dry your car?

I have read in this forum that Pack Shack is the favorite of high-end , upscale car detailers. It is super-soft and won't do damage to your paint and great to dry it too (of course there is a variety of those MF towels, so I refer to a brand in general). The cost is a bit high ($10-$15 each...

    2014 New Car Correction - obsidian lexus is350 f-sport

My car make is different from yours , but I was basically asking the same question since yesterday. So far I was advised to use M205 for paint correction , applying it with the DA buffer. I will do two bucket washing with dish-wash detergent (you will not get this advise from here, because...

    Fix for Harbor Freight DA

I will be doing paint correction on a new car that got swirl marks and fine scratches on delivery (I assume this happened when the dealers' shop detailed my car prior to delivery). Some users here suggested M205 for polishing and removing of the fine scratches and I think I will order it from...

    Fix for Harbor Freight DA

I found these on Autogeek lake country 5 inch backing plate, 5 inch backin plate, 5 inch hook and loop backing plate @ $14.99, it's from Lake Country. Would this work with HF DA? Can I still use the HF blue and black foam pads ( see 6 in. Variable Speed Dual Action Polisher ) with the...

    Fix for Harbor Freight DA

I found the HF DA in local HF store where I live. I have read many reviews and concluded that the machine is worth giving it a try at under $60 (minus 25% discount coupon). The question is: what foam pads should I buy for it? Can I put just any 6' foam pad on it? I have read reviews of foam...

How to seal a brand new car?

I found a link to 25% coupon (through 11/30) and their store not far from where I live. I think I will drive there and pick up the DA, after checking to make sure they have it in stock. Once I complete the project will post the pictures here (Before and After). Though pictures are deceiving...

How to seal a brand new car?

Every other post from me comes with something to the effect of "I am not an expert" and "I need an expert advise". Is it your point to reiterate the obvious and tell me what I already said about myself, repeatedly? :) If so, then it looks like you have been wasting your time all along. No need...

How to seal a brand new car?

Now neither the poster who wrote it nor you can claim to be in my head and know whether I am mentally cutting and pasting anything or expressing my own thoughts. Or can you? So, you have a belief (just like people have a belief in bearded guy in skies) that what I wrote is pasted from somewhere...
