    Fairly new Detailer

Your going to run yourself out of business. There will always be other guys that offer dirt cheat details, I see it all the time. It's not your job to compete with those guys, because You can't! Show your customers why your rates are more, don't bad mouth the other guy but show them why he...

    Finding a good detailer

Let them know cheaper is not always better. Have them look at a detailers review if they have any on yelp or Angie's list.

    Mobile rig- Subaru Impreza

Using a PW on the door jambs saves lots if time. There are some that are horrible, and a PW is quick and easy. You don't just hold the trigger down and spray away. I use quick short spurts and very little water gets on the interior. As for a Subaru I don't know how that would work, I have a...

    Interior detailing question

Yes and No. Usually if a car has the spare tire compartment inside I remove the cover and vacuum all the edges and any big particles around the tire. I don't actually take the spare tire out and clean everything out. For the most part those compartment are pretty clean so a quick vacuum is all...

    What would you use??

:iagree: Meguiars Ultimate line is good for beginners. The ultimate compound doesn't dry as fast as the M105 and your get the same results. But M105,205 are good too and can be found locally.

Quick DIY: Make your favorite spray bottle work upside down

All I can say is WOW!!!!! To some of the posts here. I didn't find it one bit hard to understand! The reason you don't take the tube out completely is to use the bottle regularly, upside down and sideways. If you take the tube out it is strictly limited to upside down spraying, then you would...

HHR Panel for Mobile Detailing unit?

Man looking at the specs it made me think of how I would set it up if I had it. Lots of possibilities. If your panning on getting it wrapped, skip any step after a polish, they will end up removing it anyway.

HHR Panel for Mobile Detailing unit?

I have a 50 gallon water tank in my dodge ram and believe me 25 gallons will not get you 4-5 cars. Unless you are doing ONR or some other waterless wash, 25 gallons won't cut it. If you get a really bad car 25 gallons can go quick! I can get 4-5 cars with regular washes if they are not bad from...

    Van or enclosed trailer

That's too big for every day jobs. I have a 6X12 and it got in the way a lot. You can be the greatest at maneuvering it but if there's no space to park it what good is that. In my opinion a 5X8 is plenty. I currently just use my 08 dodge ram and that's it. 99% of the time you won't need every...

    Removing swirls from wheels.

Yeah my bet was going to be the 3" GG polisher or 3" drill adapter with maybe M205. Maybe M105 if the other won't work, followed by a good wheel polish.

    Removing swirls from wheels.

Soooo.... I had a customer call me to ask about removing swirls from his wheels. He went tru the automatic car wash and that apperantly caused swirls on the polished lip. He called the wheel company and they said the lip of the wheels are stainless steel. It looks to be a highly polished...

HHR Panel for Mobile Detailing unit?

It looks food for amobile unit (especially if you get it wrapped). My only concern is will it hold the weight Of at least a 50 gallon water tank? If not you might needs small trailer to pull behind. Also will it be enough room for all your gear? Other than that looks good. Also don't worry too...

    Van or enclosed trailer

I know ppl say "Think big," "Go Big," but I say stay as small and compact as possible! I originally started with a 6X10 trailer, I thought it was awesome, untill I would get jobs that were a bit further from my house, or apartment complexes. Gas mileage on my 08 Dodge Ram was horrible! Sometimes...

    How long is to long

I don't think too many people answered your question. However define "full detail" people have different definitions. For me a regular sedan basic detail ( interior vac, wipe down all panels, windows, door jambs, wash, wheels tires and wells) takes about 1.5-2hrs. Shampooing adds another 40 min...

    Door to Door!

In my opinion any form of marketing works. If it didn't people would not use it. From personal experience here are MY numbers. It takes about 1HR to distribute 100 flyers by yourself (or pay someone). From those 100 flyers I got about 8-10 calls and from those 8-10 calls I got about 3...
