    Menzerna Full Molecular Jacket

I have never tried out FMJ so I cannot comment on its look or durability, but I have used Blackfire Wet Diamond and the Wolfgang Sealant and both look and feel great!

Cleaner then clay or clay then cleaner???

I agree, it's not what the label says, but what the product actually does. For instance, Wolfgang has a "finishing glaze," but it's really not a glaze, but more of a final polish. If you're looking for a paint cleaner, get a product that only does that, if you want a medium polish, then get...

Questions for the weekend and on the side detailers

In this case, it's good to photograph as much of the car; before and after shots, so if you get this type of customer, you can show him the before shots and the after shots as evidence. Another thing is just like you said, detailing for friends and family. They will generally not give you any...

What to use with M105/205? Waxes/glazes/sealents?

It does need to be done with a rotary. You need the heat from the rotary to jewel the paint. What I meant by "not RPMs" is the speed that you move the pad across the paint, not the speed of the polisher.

Oh I bet you are excited. I'd like to get a foam cannon soon.

    Masking Tape

I have seen that...but most of the pros will not put tape on edges. Some do it on the cracks to keep the dust out...but you don't want to place tape on the paint and have that section not polished. It is true though that you have to be a little more careful around edges. I guess better safe than...

What to use with M105/205? Waxes/glazes/sealents?

RIDS stands for Random Isolated Deep Scratches. You may also see RDS for Random Deep Scratches. Dana will be able to help you out with jeweling or burnishing. From what I understand from him, you have to use a final polish like 85rd or 3M UF with a final polishing pad, and it's done by using...

    Pad Cleaner Options

Very nice! The clear on them is a bit on the harder side if you haven't noticed yet. I was able to get all swirls out with SIP/Nano using a PC. I plan on polishing with my rotary when I get the car back from the shop.

    Which Order??

For polishes, I would get something like the Meg's twins (M105/205) or Menzerna (SIP/Nano). You already have a great finishing polish with 85rd. I have never used 85rd, but forum members say it's very similar to the 3M Ultrafine that I do have.

    Masking Tape

Ideally, if you're using a rotary on someone's car, you should be good enough that you won't burn the paint. Around edges etc, you just need to be more careful. This is coming from someone who has used a rotary before and burned paint so trust me, I know. Since then I've been able to practice on...

How many coats would you suggest?

If you put a coat of sealant and a coat of wax on now, and then wash the car next week, you will not need to do any waxing. Better yet, if you're going to put a coat of anything on now and wash next week, then your best bet would be to put a coat of wax, not sealant. Remember, you get durability...
