    Auto Detailing Certification

Mike, I hear what you're saying and I know that something can be drafted if we all chime-in. I did notice lately that some dealers in our area have car detailers not employed by the company to detail your car before you take it home. One dealer had the nerve to want to charge me for detailing...

    Auto Detailing Certification

It's just a start and I agree, your customer's satisfaction is your certificate. I do, however, would like to see this some day. Perhaps, between AG and the Vendors that some people can come to an agreement about "Acceptable Technique" and not so much the various products being used.

    Auto Detailing Certification

I understand that auto technicians get certified (ASE) Automotive Service Excellence) and rightfully so. Why not auto detailers? How about Autogeek setting up certification? AG can come up with the criteria for a written test for us to take. This would increse membership for them as well as...

    Paint Overspray

Well, my friend's 2012 Buick Enclave somehow managed to get paint overspray on it. It almost covers the entire rear of the vehicle including the pain, bumper trim and glass. I was able to remove the paint on the bumper using nail polish but didn't try it on the glass or windows. What would...

    World's biggest Car Wash

No disagreement there but I believe they're (all car washes) are just as bad. I often cringe when I see my neighbors washing their cars in the sun. Use the hose as if they're power washing a desk and other mistakes.

    World's biggest Car Wash

I was watching Modern Marvels the other night and couldn't pass on the show about the biggest car was in the world and other facts about car washing. It's really worth watching. So, I looked up the car wash, Cloister in Pennsylvania and was browsing their website when I saw this on their FAQs...

    After claying not glass smooth?

I don't know if I should say this since AG doesn't carry this item but I would have loved to have known of a tire gell that didn't sling off. I purchased Eagle 1. I never had any issues with sling. I'm now going to throw out all those other bottles or sell them/give them away at my next garage...

need tips on being lazy (foam gun?)

I don't like those foam guns unless the car is a little dirty. I prefer the grit guard method to remove everything. I also don't like driving the car around to dry it. Won't it pick up dirt and dust that will eventually stick to the finish? I just purchased the Metro Master Blaster to dry off...

    detailing in the sun. (seriously?)

Since I had a customer's car to do in the Sun and could not order in time from AG, I headed to the Poorboy's headquarters in NY. I was greated on the phone and told he had the products in stock and I can purchase them directly from him. So, that day I took the 1 hour drive to Poorboy's location...

    Overspray???

I have a 2012 Bucik Enclave scheduled for tomorrow morning. I looked at the car briefly and notice on the back bumper which is some kind of finish in plastic (Cladding) that there are all these white spots on it. I'm thinking it's overspray but I'm not sure and neither is the owner of the...

    Interior Plastic Trim

I detailed a 1999 Mustang today. The interior went well except for some of the plastic trim inside. I tried several products but it didn't come clean. Any suggestions on what to use? I thought about using a brush to agitate but didn't want to remove the paint from the plastic. Thanks in advance.

Stains in Velour Seats ( 2010 Corolla )

I just invested in the MYTEE 100 and just tried it out. Once I let the water drain, it was disgusting to see. It was all brown and dark. If the hot water extractor is not practical yet, I purchased a steamer for about $120.00 and will use that to speed things up. I will also use it to do some...

    Convertible Cleaning

Ever since I went mobile detailing, it seems like every customer has either no shade or a garage to work in so I will be purchasing some of the PoorBoy's products. I have a car to do tomorrow that has a convertible. Can I wash the convertible in the sun? Can I use the protectant in the sun? I...
