Just wondering...do you use 1 coat or multiple coats to get that kind of durability?

    Questions about sealants

I was talking about buffing it off. I was trying to put it on thin, but maybe I didn't succeed very well, because it took a great deal of effort to buff it off. I have used WG DGPS, and it was a breeze to remove in comparison to the SG. But it could have been my technique of application that...

    Questions about sealants

Thanks Ryan. I was wondering about those 2 sealants, and Menzerna Power lock as well. I wonder if MPL is as durable as BFWD with only one coat?

    Questions about sealants

I have been thinking a lot about sealants lately, and I would love to have these questions answered: 1. I am assuming that most sealants have like a 4-6 month durability. Is that with only 1 coat? Or do you have to layer it 12 hrs apart with 2 coats to get the max durability? 2. If you...

I am now an OPC believer

I have a question about the procedure for cleaning the leather seats... Do you use the little scrub brush to scrub with, then use a damp towel to wipe off the seat, or do you use just a dry cloth to wipe it down after scrubbing? Do you have to be concerned with getting rid of the residual...

DON'T do what I just did.... 2005 Acura TL with sticky gray leather

I'm in Charlotte too. So you can vouch for their work? I wonder how they would fix it? And how much do you think it would cost me? And then there's the reality of the situation...even if I get it fixed, I still have the sticky problem. I wonder if I just need to go ahead and get it re-covered?

DON'T do what I just did.... 2005 Acura TL with sticky gray leather

I agree Jenn. This is a problem that many Honda owners have posted topics on. This is the first Honda vehicle I've owned, so I have never seen this problem before. I'll chalk it up to "learning a lesson the hard way" I guess...

DON'T do what I just did.... 2005 Acura TL with sticky gray leather

OK...just called the local Acura dealership here...a new armrest is $260. Yikes!!!! The re-covering idea is definitely looking more promising. Will go get some pics now and I'll post them soon...

DON'T do what I just did.... 2005 Acura TL with sticky gray leather

What a great idea Mike...I was thinking that I would have to live with it, but maybe I can get a re-cover of the armrest...and thanks for giving this a new title. That makes perfect sense! :dblthumb2:

DON'T do what I just did.... 2005 Acura TL with sticky gray leather

DON'T do what I just did.... 2005 Acura TL with sticky gray leather OK, so I've been trying like crazy to figure out what will clean off the sticky/tacky stuff that is on the center armrest of my 2005 Acura TL with grey interior. Evidently this is a big problem with Hondas. I read somewhere...

How long to wait between coats of Autoglym HD?

Thanks Jim. I was wondering where you read this if you don't mind me asking? It doesn't say on the directions on the box, and I couldn't get the answer from reading their website. Just curious so I can learn...:dblthumb2:

How long to wait between coats of Autoglym HD?

Hi all, Been researching this topic, but I haven't found the answer yet...how long do you wait between coats of Autoglym HD? Is it like a sealant where you have to wait about 12 hrs between coats, or do you treat it like a carnauba wax that can be layered without the extensive curing time in...

Will OPC diluted clean the stickiness off my center armrest?

Thanks guys...I'll have to try the hot water/soap combo. I'm just afraid that because of the very hot summer we've had, that some kind of chemical or substance has leached out of the armrest and caused the tackiness to occur. I don't know if heat does this or not, but hopefully conditioning it...

Will OPC diluted clean the stickiness off my center armrest?

Thanks Todd. No, the tackiness is still there. I also thought that it was left-over soap or something that is making things sticky, but I'm sure I wiped it all off. And I did not notice any color transfer on my microfiber towel. Do you use OPC to clean your leather?

Will OPC diluted clean the stickiness off my center armrest?

****UPDATE**** So I just tried a 1:10 Woolite / water solution to clean it up with. The armrest felt like it wasn't sticky when it was wet, but after I dried it off, it still feels tacky and sticky. This is so weird! BTW, I have not spilled anything on it that would cause it to be tacky.

Will OPC diluted clean the stickiness off my center armrest?

Hi everyone, I just read the loooong thread about APC and leather, and it is sooo full of good info! But now I need help applying all this knowledge to my application. My problem is, my center armrest is sticky from I don't know what. I use Megs APC+ diluted 4:1 to clean it, then I applied...
