    Matte Finish shine to Tires?

I'm sure Meg's is good, but no, I am referring to Tuf Shine Black Restore. It's made by Tuf Shine, that also makes their Clear Coat for tires. I tried the Clear Coat, but for me it was too finicky to apply. Even when I scrubbed until their tire cleaner produced only white foam, I would still get...

    Rupes LHR12E

I have a Duetto, but I can't compare it to a PC since I've never had one. I like my Rupes. It's very smooth and comfortable to use.

Soak car before using foam gun?

Most people use a foam cannon with a pressure washer, not a foam gun with an air compressor. A power rinse would be done with a pressure washer. 2BM is doing a two bucket wash after the foaming, to remove road grime that can't be removed by foam or a pressure wash.

Detailing a 10+ year old car. Newbie. Products?

It's actually green! But Honda calls it Omni Blue Pearl ... and in some light it does look white. It's a rather rare color for the Element, as is your Shoreline Mist Metallic Element. You'll like the Meguiar's Ultimate compound and polish. I used those and Ultimate Wax and Quik Wax before...

Oppertunity to do a 79 T-Bird, need advice

I could swear there was some plastic chrome on my dad's '76 Ford Country Squire wagon. Obviously there is a lot of real chrome like on the bumpers, but the grill, and the bits surrounding the tail lights? Anyway, you've seen the car in person and I haven't, so I could easily be mistaken.

Paint cleansing lotion - no. of pads

If it's 118 in the morning, I think I would clean the paint at night. Wouldn't it be faster to use the polisher?!

Oppertunity to do a 79 T-Bird, need advice

I'm no expert, but what comes to mind is that on the chrome bits, you need to determine if it's real chrome, or chromed plastic. Real chrome you can use metal polish, but if it's plastic, you need to treat it as such.

    Newbie Big Time, Mike: "Help"

Welcome to AGO. I'm not Mike, but I will give you my opinion: since you just had the Honda professionally detailed, the best thing you can do for it is to touch it as little as possible. You only want to maintain it with the products you already have. Really, the only time you want to touch...

    Explanation of beeding all over?

I think this is the likely explanation. It's no different than when you fry food in your kitchen. Oil droplets get airborne and go everywhere. If you don't clean often, you'll find a coating of oil over items far from the stove. I know this because I don't clean my kitchen often enough. :p

    Car Cover???

Oh, that's not so bad. but then you said you can't put it on a dirty car. I'd have to dust off my vehicle every time I wanted to put a cover on it, meaning daily. No thanks.

Paint cleansing lotion - no. of pads

The only reason you would need/want multiple pads is because you don't want to stop and clean a single pad along the way. Four should be fine.

    Car Cover???

I've never used a cover, but I'd hate to use one on a daily driver. I think putting it on and taking it off every day would get old fast, and I'd quit using it. I don't have a garage either, and the weather here in the D.C. area is not much better. I went with a coating to protect the paint.

Griot's Garage NEW BOSS Paint Polishing System

It's good to keep in mind that these are just tools; a means to an end. If you prefer your Rupes and you get the results you want, then it's the right tool for the job. The important thing about a tool is that you are comfortable using it.

5 or 6.5 inch hybrid pads?

If you're worried about a bigger pad stalling like it might with a PC, as mentioned above, the FLEX is forced rotation; it will spin regardless or the panel's shape.

    Help? Dots on paint.

I can't really see what you're trying to capture. If it's the whole hood, maybe it's not the original paint?

Where are these dots? In the first picture, it looks like etching from bird droppings. http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/hot-topics-frequently-asked-questions/30535-how-long-does-take-bird-dropping-etch-paint.html
