Clayed the mustang for the first time since having it detailed in December, assuming they actually clayed it. The wax was failing so clay and wax was called for. I plan to polish/correct the car in the coming months but really dont want to clay it all over again to remove the wax. Anyway...

I remember a european detailer using a type of rust remover to get at stubborn spots on wheels.

I'm telling ya, be on the look out for free stacks of newspaper and use them. Works wonders on exterior windows. However, i'm relying on a glass master pro tool to help with the back glass and wind shield. Mustangs are a pain to clean the back glass.

This is the real solution. Ceramic brake pads. Improve performance AND reduce the cleaning frequency of wheels of high performance cars. My brembo's last about 3 days before they need to be cleaned.

Best trick in the book: use newspaper as your towel. Works 100% of the time. :props:

I agree, i'll wash my car only to notice a thin film of dust after a day in the parking garage. Still cleaner than anything in there!

My car was detailed (before I knew a lick about keeping a car clean) at a Simoniz shop in Dallas over 8 months ago and it still beads after being washed every other week with Mothers Carnauba wash. I'm tempted to find a can of whatever they use because it's really proven to stand up to the test...

The key is a slow arm speed. I think a lot of folks assume it's going to act like a vaccum and suck the water off the car. It can, but you need to use slow arm speed to allow the water to penetrate and be absorbed by the towel. I've slowed mine down using my Guzzler and I'm noticing the towel's...

I'd go with clay and expect it to take some time. Section the paint off and go section by section. AND PUT SOME ELBOW BEHIND IT!:xyxthumbs:

But you would recommend them over say, a flat pad? Something I may consider in the future.
