Removing wax before polishing without clay.

Clayed the mustang for the first time since having it detailed in December, assuming they actually clayed it. The wax was failing so clay and wax was called for. I plan to polish/correct the car in the coming months but really dont want to clay it all over again to remove the wax. Anyway...

How important is the IPA wipedown???

I was thinking about this exact question yesterday after I clayed my mustang. Mothers reccomends its instant detailer as a lubricant, which I used and wiped off thoroughly. I don't have any alcohol on me but I guess I could pick some up at Walgreens the next go around as a precaution for next...

    Worst wheels I've encountered

I remember a european detailer using a type of rust remover to get at stubborn spots on wheels.

Of course, memorial day sale and it's on back order...

I added a different Polisher kit to the cart and entered the code, took my shipping and 15% off with the kit in the cart. I imagine it would still work if I proceded through to checkout?

Of course, memorial day sale and it's on back order...

Would love to take advantage of this awesome sale but the GG6 is out of stock! Rainchecks anyone? I think it's because of the brinkman light :/

How I get Streak Free Mirrors and Glass Everytime

I'm telling ya, be on the look out for free stacks of newspaper and use them. Works wonders on exterior windows. However, i'm relying on a glass master pro tool to help with the back glass and wind shield. Mustangs are a pain to clean the back glass.

Is wheel wax/protection really worth it?

This is the real solution. Ceramic brake pads. Improve performance AND reduce the cleaning frequency of wheels of high performance cars. My brembo's last about 3 days before they need to be cleaned.

How I get Streak Free Mirrors and Glass Everytime

Best trick in the book: use newspaper as your towel. Works 100% of the time. :props:

    Maintaining clean tires.

Because nothing says "hey, i'm clean and taken care of" like shiny tires. Doesn't matter if you just removed every imperfection in the paint. If the tires aren't shiny you didn't have it "just detailed." I'm in the "leave em be" boat. I use Mothers Tire cleaner and their tire/wheel brushes to...

Dust the bane of my existence

I agree, i'll wash my car only to notice a thin film of dust after a day in the parking garage. Still cleaner than anything in there!

    Simoniz

My car was detailed (before I knew a lick about keeping a car clean) at a Simoniz shop in Dallas over 8 months ago and it still beads after being washed every other week with Mothers Carnauba wash. I'm tempted to find a can of whatever they use because it's really proven to stand up to the test...

Please recommend the best/safest Waffle Weave drying towel you have used.

The key is a slow arm speed. I think a lot of folks assume it's going to act like a vaccum and suck the water off the car. It can, but you need to use slow arm speed to allow the water to penetrate and be absorbed by the towel. I've slowed mine down using my Guzzler and I'm noticing the towel's...

    Can clay remove road paint?

I'd go with clay and expect it to take some time. Section the paint off and go section by section. AND PUT SOME ELBOW BEHIND IT!:xyxthumbs:

Cobra cross groove pads? Anyone use them?

But you would recommend them over say, a flat pad? Something I may consider in the future.

Cobra cross groove pads? Anyone use them?

Anyone have an opinion on these pads? The cross groove idea makes sense to me but I've never seen a video or recomendations of using them.

What's the correct way to dry your car after washing with the two bucket method?

I use two guzzler's typically. Sometimes I can get away with one but our CUV has a lot of area to cover. I'm getting a leaf blower for my lawn soon and figure I'll use it to help blow the cars clean. Has anyone else noticed their Guzzler towels degrading over time? seems they don't pick up as...
