    First attempt at polishing

While I agree with your excellent advise to the newbie, I'd really like to know where you get a Master Blaster for $80. $380 is more like it in my experience... <TED>

    Costco MF question

I agree. My wife bought me a "bale" of Costco MF not knowing any better, and I have found them to be a decent towel. I won't use them on the paint on her black car, but I used them for RW washes on all my white and silver cars (4) all last Winter with no ill effects. I do use them on the...

Non-Pro Coating Comparison Discussion: Which is the best coating available to NON-professionals?

I agree! Easy to use, look great, last long enough... (Maybe it's a Delaware thing<g>!) <TED>

    Mercedes Benz obsidian black.

My wife just got a new Jeep Cherokee in metallic black. I coated it with Pinnacle Black label Diamond paint coating. Wheels were done with Pinnacle Black label Diamond Surface Coating. Those coatings last 2-3 years. <TED>

    Steam Cleaner suggestions

German is not always good, though... I bought a very expensive Karcher power washer and the pump case split open last weekend after less than 20 hours total use. I'm not pleased! <TED>

    Storing chemicals already diluted?

Certainly not an APC. Whether that would be equally true of something like Hydro2 is a very different question. <TED>

removing oil, sludge in the engine bay

I used to use Griot's Engine cleaner and a cheap paintbrush followed by a pressure wash. I have recently tried Maguires Super Degreaser which is a bit more versatile. Both work well. <TED>

    Delta Spray Bottles

Spraymaster Chemical Resistant is my go to bottle. I have a couple of Kwasars and won't waste the money on any others - just my $.02 worth. I do buy the Chemical Resistants because I have had chemicals like APC kill those that are not Chemical Resistant in relatively short order. I've never...

Me some advice in breaking in my Bigfoot 21

It does require a lot of attention to keep the pad spinning on irregularly shaped panels. I suspect that this becomes innate over time (though I haven't reached that point yet and may never). <TED>

    M105/m205

I would start with the 8 ounce. While the amount you need depends on a whole lot of factors, 8 ozs will be enough to do your 2 cars (unless they are very unusual - you're not a long haul trucker are you<G>?) Moreover, while these polishes are very popular (and a variation M101 and M205) have...

    Quick help...Simoniz Glasscoat paint protection

I certainly don't disagree with that. It is a perfectly good coating. Just not the one that I would use myself. I found it very easy to deal with. <TED>

    Wheel Coatings

I've used PBL Surface Coating on wheels for the last 6 months or so. It really makes it easier to keep the wheels clean. Nothing sticks to it! I've only had it on for 6 months so it isn't much of a test in longevity, but it is still going fine today. <TED>

    Quick help...Simoniz Glasscoat paint protection

I have a car that had Simoniz Glasscoat installed by the dealer. It is an OK coating. (I'd never buy it willingly, though...) It doesn't bead well after a year or so. I waxed over it and sealed over it no problem. If you want to take it off, it comes off pretty easily with Megs 205. I'd bet...

Heyo! I need a polisher! Now!

The PC is the workhorse of the industry. Guys like Mike Phillips have used them successfully on everything from motorcycles to semis. Having said that, it is old news so it doesn't get a lot of love on these boards any more. But most of us have one and still use it. As Art mentioned, get...
