    Best Winter Sealant?

This may be a bit further out (especially given my rather conservative nature), but you might consider one of the new coatings from Pinnacle Black label. I wouldn't recommend a "newbie" starting out with a coating, but, if you read the threads carefully, Pinnacle Black Label Paint Coating is so...

Blackfire Total Polish & Seal Question

If you look up BFTPNS on the polish chart you will see that it is rated at a 1 - which is about a jeweling rate. BF Finishing Polish is a 3 (and it will only do light swirls depending on how hard the paint is). Megs 205 is a 4. You can't expect a 1 to do the job of a 6 or 7 (which is what...

    New McCulloch MC1385 Steamer?

I have the 1375. It is very similar to the 1385, but lacks the steam control at the nozzle. FWIW, I am very happy with the unit. However, I am not really experienced with Steam Cleaners - this was my first one. I've used this one on my boat, my cars and in my kitchen. It was dynamite...

I Life in Condo - How to Quickly Wash Jet-Black Car?

First, get a professional detailer to correct the paint (get rid of those scratches) and either seal it or coat it. Then get some Optimum No Rinse Wash ("ONR") and read up about no-rinse washing here on Auto Geek. FWIW, I use the Gary Dean method with multiple MF towels. It does a good job...

How does BFWD compare to Menzerna power lock?

OK, that I can appreciate! I usually start by hand and work my way up. My original experience with the foam applicator told me not to work up further, but to find something less susceptible to absorbing the product. The MF hand pad solved that problem. FWIW, I always use a dedicated hand...

How does BFWD compare to Menzerna power lock?

OK, you have me intrigued. When you say gunk up pads, I assume you are applying it with foam pads on a DA? (I've never tried that so I have no experience - I use an MF hand applicator). If so, do you mean saturating the pads? (I tried a Lake Country foam sealant applicator with BFWD once -...

Looking for working time on Jetta.

You mentioned using M205 which to me is correction - but it is a one step correction. M101 and 205 would be a full correction and the correction step would take twice as long. I would think about 6 hours for a one step correction and an LSP - but that's for me. You might go quicker or slower.

Need Compound & Polish votes and advice

I agree. 101 and 205 are all I need for anything I would be willing to tackle. I do have some finer polishes and some DATs, but I rarely use them. Just my $.02 worth...

    canopy?

This is what I have been recommending and I recommend it on the basis of ease of use and price. A quick look on Amazon shows EZ UP 10X10's for about $120/each. A 10X20 runs about $950! 12X12's would work too. I have used cheaper canopies and when my team mates went to EZ UPs I understood...

    canopy?

Mine is an EZ-UP. Great canopy. Mine is just 10X10 and I have the walls as well. I originally bought it when I was racing motorcycles so the size didn't matter. The 10X10 is easy to set up without help. Takes just a couple of minutes. The 10X10 is promoted in a lot of stores so it is...

    Microfiber Detergent

Me too. Chemical Guys is my go-to product for microfiber - primarily on a cost/benefit analysis. It is very effective and very inexpensive. Having said that, I prefer Blackfire's product (and use it when certain products are present on the microfiber), but the cost differential is big! For...

    3d Printing

To answer this question precisely, "yes". A product patent prohibits anyone other than the patent holder (or his or her licensees) from making, using or selling the patented product during the life of the patent.

FI also leaves nothing behind which is why I use it when applying sealant or final inspection before applying a sealant.
