    Cold weather rinseless washing

Dyna-glo 45000 btu kerosene. It had the garage at 60 by the time I was finishing up. It ran for about an hour and 15 minutes total.

VERY Thick Smokers Film on Windshield

Steam would probably work best, although i've never used a steamer. I've done a couple of cars like that though using only a foaming glass cleaner and razor blades. It's a nasty, time consuming job. Good luck.

    Cold weather rinseless washing

Low 40's for outside for me. A good pair of gloves goes a long way. I'll do rinseless in the garage around 20 but I'm working quick to keep the water on the panel from freezing. Gave my new heater a good test today. 36 and raining outside but the garage came up to 60. Winter washing will be...

Best Garage Heater for MA weather

Doesn't a pellet stove need to be direct vented outside? Those things do get really warm though.

Best Garage Heater for MA weather

Kerosene. A 45000 btu unit will keep you nice and warm for 6 hours before needed to be refilled. Mine takes up about 2 feet in the corner and only weighs about 30 lbs so it's easy to move. An advantage with kerosene is you can use it inside your home if the power goes out.

    Florida Christmas

43 and raining here in Buffalo. No snow means no shoveling!

    Spray wax after washing?

I think this is their pre mixed QD. ONR at QD strength does a great job but still isn't a spray wax.

    Spray wax after washing?

I've used OCW on top of 845 for years. I don't do it at every wash, which is about 1-2 weeks apart right now. Maybe every 3rd or 4th wash, so about 4-6 weeks between spray waxes. I find the combo works well together, and a couple applications can help take 845 through long Western New York...

    Washing microfibers question

:iagree: First wash usually takes care of any dye transfer. For the most part I'm not worried by it. It's only cosmetic

New truck! 2011 Chevy Tahoe Z71 Black Coated with Wolfgang Uber Ceramic Coating

Welcome to Buffalo! Great job. My brother in law has the same truck that has only seen tunnel washes and looks like a disaster. It's nice to see one taken care of. Btw, it was 59F today and the long term weather says it's going to be a mild winter. You may not need that big truck this year

When is a product officially dead??

Haven't quite forgotten it, but I loved the way it made my old RSX look. Pretty easy to work with as well.

    Best Rinseless Wash Mitt/Sponge

I still have two buckets, two grit guards, and a wash media like if I was doing a conventional hose wash. I just use a lot less water, don't have water dripping from seams, and generally get done in less time doing rinseless than hose washing. I don't have any restrictions here, it's just my...

Winter washing after Menzerna pl sealant

Winter is a bear to deal with if you an AG member. There's only so much you can do with the resources available. I try to stick to the coin-op ones until they get shut down. The automatic touchless ones are only good if they spray underneath your vehicle.

Winter washing after Menzerna pl sealant

I don't know what temperature my garage is but I've done rinseless washes when there was still ice on the paint. I normally do a two bucket wash, using the hottest water I can get. The vehicle gets a pretreatment using the pump sprayer, which also has hot water in it. Go slow, let the hot...

Winter washing after Menzerna pl sealant

Once the coin wash gets closed due to being too cold out, I'll pre-treat the car with rinseless from a 2-gallon pump sprayer, then perform a rinseless wash.

    Best Rinseless Wash Mitt/Sponge

I'll agree with this. I got one this week. I think that I'll be using my BRS along with the MF towel that I have. Each has its pros and cons.

    2013 Kia Optima

I've dedicated a pad just for PL application. No more worrying about trying to clean something that just won't come out of the pad anymore.

    Rinseless wash question

Try a bunch of things and go with what you like the best. I currently have a dedicated MF towel for washing. I've tried wash mitts, multiple MF, and grout sponges. I have a Bit Red Sponge coming next week, thinking about winter washing and how much water I deal with rubbing my towel out on the...

Roll Call! Who drives a MANUAL transmission?

I work with a lot of truck drivers and find it surprising how many semis are now automatics. I guess the last great area of manuals are slowing going away as well

Roll Call! Who drives a MANUAL transmission?

After driving stick for close to 20 yrs I got an automatic. The first couple months I would occasionally hit the brake pedal with my left foot looking for the clutch. There's times now that I miss having a stick, but I really like my truck and don't see truck options with a manual in the future.
