Collinite #845: The Definitive How-To Guide For This Legendary Wax

OCW is a great way to "top off" or maintain 845. A good base of 845 can last through a bad winter without problems with semi-regular washes and OCW applications. I wouldn't try to thin 845 out to a point were it can used as a spray, though. I think that it would either thicken up or seperate...

    My first detail

Calm down. Winter sucks here in NY for everyone. I was just pointing out that he called out Buffalo over Toronto. Those same paint and body issues that you pointed out are here as well. I have a brand new GMC that went through one winter and had light corrosion on the thunderbolt. Unless you...

    My first detail

What's up with the crack at Buffalo? At least we don't mandate snow tires here. Nice job. Car looks nice but if your looking for depth I'd go with a wax over the sealant.

    Prepping for coating

Thanks for everyone's input. I'm thinking to try a test spot, maybe on one side of a fenders, to see what water beading looks like with a full decon and OPC, and on the other side a light polish. I'm trying to save polishing what doesn't need to be polished.

    Prepping for coating

I'm thinking about coating my truck with CQUK. I did a full decontamination this spring with Iron X and claying and the truck is currently swirl free. It does have 3 coats of 845 on it, though. Would another full decontamination and spraying OPC to remove the wax be enough or do I need to...

How much Liquid Souveran Spray Wax

I have the same bottle. It was a free sample from an order I placed this year from AG. I used the approximately the same amount on my truck which is the same size as yours. It doesn't seems to spread very well, but I only used it a couple of times early this year after winter when there wasn't...

It was bound to happen.... RSX is moving on and a GTI is coming....

I miss my 02 RSX-S. Bought a firepepper red off the lot when they were released since there was a 6 month back order on black. It was my 3rd Integra after having an 88 and 94 GS-R. I did suspension work, wheels, intake, exhaust, lighting, and stereo upgrades. Of course, it was always clean...

    Yay Lowes!

I'm glad I'm not the only one with pickle buckets. My wife can get as many as she wants from work. I think I have 10 with lids. My only issue is getting the lids not to smell like pickles anymore. Anyone got a secret beyond soaking in lemon Lysol and time?

    Cluster plastic

Now I spray onto a towel then wipe, being careful still of the gauge.

    Cluster plastic

I've had success polishing the gauge cluster with Megs Plastix and a Powerball. My wife's car got some dash cleaner on the gauge cluster which caused cloudiness. The above combo cleaned everything up and still looks good after a year.

Collinite #845: The Definitive How-To Guide For This Legendary Wax

Huh, I did just about the same thing at the same time except I had Powerlock on the truck first. The only thing that is still beading is the top third of the hood. The lower body panels are all get gone. I'm guessing that it's just from how bad of a winter we had this year (I'm in western New...

    It's -11 degrees......

Actually, the truck looked pretty good in terms of swirls. I won't go to a touchless and only did a handful of rinseless washes over the winter. Its going to need a full decontamination. The 2 coats of PL topped with 2 coats of 845 are gone. Usually they hold up but this winter was brutal.

    It's -11 degrees......

Nigeria's, that's a lot of snow. Oswego always gets pounded. I know what you mean about clearing snow off the wheels. Nothing worse than half your wheel full of ice and driving unbalanced. On the good side, it was 48 yesterday. I dragged the hose out of the basement and got a decent wash...

KSG Success! (I think) One Question Though...

I always had application problems with KSG and had the same issues. Usually from applying too much. I found a 1:1 KSG to distilled water in a small spray bottle helped with controlling how much product you use and then use the WOWO method. It makes it easy to add coats and cuts down on the...
