I only used ObliTARate for tar removal, but I also bought Auto Finesse Citrus which I did use on bugs and other unidentifiable gunk on my trucks bumper, side skirts and in the wheel wells and it took care of that no problem. These were NY size bugs and not those miniature birds they have down...
My garage queen is now a year old and the only part that's been washed with a hose has been the wheels and wheel wells. The paint hasn't seen soap and water yet. Since it only goes out on nice days it just gets light dust so when I get home I waterless it and cover it back up. It's become a...
Ahhh glass cleaning, ask a different detailer, get a different answer. :D
For me it's two towels, both waffle, one for the initial cleaning/wiping of the cleaner on the glass the second used dry for buffing over the area. I found I quite like Meg's D120 after testing a few glass cleaners.
Looking forward to see how they deal with brake dust accumulation and cleaning now that they're sweetened. I have black wheels on one of my cars and am always looking for a little extra protection and wetness to the look so this is on my future "to try" list since I can layer it over the stuff...
Nice work!
I was wondering how the Smurf got so shiny in the latest pics he posted haha. I also own an R and post on the same forum (VWVortex) he does, was bummed I missed waterfest to see it in person. That car is an ANIMAL now that's for sure.
Very nice, it came out great. I never would have guessed those wheels were blue under all that brake dust haha. I thought it was the lighting in the before pics making black wheels have a bit of a blue hue.
Interesting what you like about them is why mine are up for trade....the dual nap. I love the plush side of these but don't like the fact that 1/2 the towel is short nap. The more I try different towels (slightly absurd towel collection) the more I realize in 9 out of 10 cases if a towel isn't...
Updated list with some microfiber towels, pics available of anything on request just shoot me a PM.
- 1Z Anti-Insekt 90% left, 500ml (16.9oz) bottle
- Dodo Juice Supernatural Carnauba Glaze 99.9% left (sprayed once), 500ml (16.9oz) bottle
- Chemical Guys Ecosmart RU 100% new, 16oz bottle...
Nice, I did the same thing a while back and posted my thoughts and side by side pics of a few other interior quick detail sprays which may interest you in your search for less gloss...
Is there going to be a new version of the DP waterless too? I bought the current DP waterless on BOGO and compared to five other waterless washes I've been testing/comparing I'm a bit unimpressed unfortunately.
YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, :buffing:
A bit hard to cough up $70 for the big bottle and hope I like it but the little guy I'd probably go for.
Since I no longer detail for a living and just obsess over my own two cars and a few lucky family and friends cars I don't mind the added cost honestly. I love how crazy slick it feels at 4:1 while in use like it's really encapsulating the dirt and letting the MF towel slide across and scoop it...
I used it 4:1 since I was working on cool cars in the garage for testing.
Like you did I actually waterlessed my truck with all six different products so I could then feel the slickness left behind from panel to panel and see if there was any slight gloss difference which would be harder to...
Your review got me interested in this and now after comparing D115, UWW+, Pinnacle, DP, CG Ecosmart RU and Adam's waterless. I owe you a thank you for turning me onto this since it's my favorite of them all.
UWW+ still has the edge on price but I like D115 better in terms of everything else...
About two or three days. That's the sad part with those scents, I use an absurd amount when I use them and at full strength and it's gone in two or three days depending on which scent I use.
Of the ones I have stripper and vanilla are the longest lasting with bubble gum next then mangocello...
Single stage and lacquer don't mean the same thing. There is clear lacquer that can be used over lacquer color coats. Lacquer is just a type of paint and a vague term at that since there is acrylic lacquer, water based lacquer and nitrocellulose lacquer.
If you're getting no paint transfer...
