Looking at some waxes - need some help

+1 :props: Here's the thread I think spike was directing you to (the other link was not working for me, hope this one works): http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-detailing-101/22443-questions-about-collinite-waxes.html It's under Auto Detailing 101, with the same title.

    california duster?

I almost forgot, a little over a year ago, I e-mailed Cal Car Duster about when to replace, etc., a CCD. The reply assumed I was thinking about washing it (which I wasn't at the time ), but here is the unedited response, it echos what others have already mentioned: "This is the answer I give...

    Does P21s remove wheel sealant????

+1. Also, you might try spraying on a little ONR at QD strength or some instant detailer and wiping with a rag or cheap MF towel. It's fast and gets wheels shiny w/o removing the sealant.;)

    california duster?

:iagree: +1. I've seen many press down onto the paint, then wonder how the scratches happened. As others have said, shake out frequently and use common sense as to when the surface is too dirty to use.

2007 Mustang GT Noob Help (buffer, pads, etc)

Since you're already dropping some coin, here is a cost effective way to wash your MF's. Use Tide or a regular detergent, and add in 1/2 to 1 cup of vinegar and wash in medium wash/rinse in cold. In the rinse cycle, add another cup of distilled white vinegar, it really gets the MF's clean. Dry...

    Wax - Seal - Wax//Wax - Wax - Seal

Without getting the semantic police after me, the general definition of "dissolved" includes the following: to cause to disperse; to break up; to become fluid. I too have always assumed the wax gets repositioned by the solvent in the OS, and does not disappear or get destroyed. So when the OS...

    Griots Garage Segment On ShopNBC?

+1! LOL. They seem to be selling "kits" and not individual products. It's also a good idea to closely watch ShopNBC's prices, they're not always the "deal" they claim they are.

    303 Aerospace

I also use 303 and apply with a foam applicator, then wipe dry with a MF towel ... no streaking. The smell isn't great, but it's tolerable. :xyxthumbs:

Are California Car Dusters safe to use?

+1. I've seen a lot of opinions on this, but I too, have not had problems. I let the dreds lightly glide over the finish, sometimes shaking the CD out after one pass, say on the hood, etc. I usually use the CD the following morning, when the paint is nice and cool, and yes, my daily driver is...

    Window Tint Adhesive Removal?

+1. I echo watching the rubber, I "bit the hamster" on that one.

    ONR + PB QD+ = no go...

I do the same as you, but have not used that specific combo. One thing you might consider, high humidity and/or too much product. I had something similar happen to me when I used Opti's own instant detailer. Since I bought the concentrate, and for the humidity, I added a little more H2O to the...

Waterless vs. Rinseless? Schmitt or MF? Wheels/Tire cleaning???

There are some QC problems with the 750 shamrocks. I bought four and all had fishing tackle like sharp ends on them. However, a friend bought five and only one had the sharp corners. He couldn't return it, and gave it to me. Since I had nothing to lose, I carefully cut the ends on a 45 degree...

ONR wash method: panel-by-panel or all-at-once?

I do panels instead of whole vehicle. Don't forget, humidity also plays a role in how fast things dry. I use a Big Blue WW or a Cobra Shamrock (depending how dirty the vehicle) for the first pass, spray the QID or QCW on the C530 MF (just a little on the short nap side), then spray the panel...

    Autogeek's Forum Favorite Kit...Update?

I've been using the above combo minus the Poli-Seal, on my silver daily driver, and it looks outstanding!:)

Took the plunge, placed my first order

Congrats and enjoy! BTW, if you get some streaking after using Opti-Seal, simply wait about a half an hour after applying, and spray your OCW with a clean MF. It will simply disappear.:xyxthumbs:

    Greetings everyone

Well I thought it was about time to finally join in ... so hello to all! A little about myself. I'm located in So-Cal, in Los Angeles. I'm not a pro detailer, just a guy who likes his cars clean, shinny and protected. I learned most of what I know about detailing from a friend of mine who...
