    Adding a smaller DA polisher?

I've been following this thread. I'd really like a 3.5 in or preferably smaller (just a personal choice). The wall that I run into is price. For my applications (home DIY, 2 cars) the unit might get 3-4 hours of use per year. I realize that going cheap shouldn't be my 1st priority and I'm...

Anyone switch to the ONE-bucket method?

I'm (kind of) considering it. I tried something new with my last wash. Rinse/Foam Gun/Rinse/Foam Again, then 2 bucket. From the look of what was in my buckets when I got done it looked liked that rinsing off the first foam really got rid of a lot of dirt.

    DRIVE THROUGH CAR WASH ?

There are really only 2 rules that I tell my wife about our cars. One, if the Red Check Oil light comes on you pull over immediately. Two, you never run our cars through an automated car wash.

Using snow foam to wash car

^^Exactly what I do. I do use 3 mitts, 1 for the horizontal sections, 1 for the vertical sections and another for the lower sections that get hit with the most dirt.

    Mattmann’s new shop!

I know I'm really late to this thread but back to the original post... I don't understand why you didn't put several skylights in that huge building.

    Maxima SC1

My neighbor gave me a can of this stuff. He swears that it is just incredible in keeping his wheel wells looking as black and nice as possible. It appears to do the job but I cannot find any mention of this stuff anywhere. The only people talking about it are selling it. There are a few YT...

My local ceramic coating snake oil operation

Exactly. I've had friends and workmates tell me about the "Ceramic" coating that came with their new car. They're the same people when a mechanic upsells them on "Ceramic" brake pads they feel like they're getting something special. Maybe it's the word "Ceramic"?

    Meguires Ultimate line?

Meguiar's professional products (compounds, cleaners and waxes) have a pretty easy to understand numerical designation as to the aggressiveness of that particular product. If something is too harsh, move down. If you need a more agressive product move up.

What to do when it rains?

You're right! Did a quick wash on the Accord before the wife left for church.

What to do when it rains?

Just about everything in general. Maybe not one of my best questions here. I was just getting anxious and wanted to hit the car while I had all this free time. For example, even if I start a job late in the afternoon it never seems like my coatings dry as fast. It always seems like I need...

What to do when it rains?

Trust me, I'm not going to be doing anything just for the sake of doing it.

What to do when it rains?

Yes, I have pulled my cars out of the garage and into the rain, done a quick wash, rinse and pulled them back into the garage for a quick wipedown. I usually like to wait until the rain quiets down a bit so the neighbors don't think I'm too "crazy", LOL. Lately, during this rain we've been...

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

    Exactly :xyxthumbs:

If you could only choose one complete “system”?

My experience using different product lines is no where as extensive as most of you. I consider my a "prosumer" and only experiment with readily available products sold locally. With that said, over the years I seem to have gravitated toward Meguiar's products almost exclusively. I seem to be...

    DFB's Garage

^^ I bought one of those about 4 years ago. Love it. I've used it on our Accord's upholstery and it works great. I just wish the suction was a bit better. I've used it to clean the cloth seats in the dining room and kitchen. I've used it to clean up small spots on our carpet. I swear by...

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Jacked up the 2014 Accord and pulled the wheels off and tried some of my new Meguiar's D143 Wheel and Tire Cleaner (2:1 mix). Then did a very light polish on the faces. I really liked the D143. I've tried 1 or 2 other Tire and/or Wheel cleaners but this stuff worked great for my application...

How many Wash Mitts Per Session

1 large mitt for all the SUV except the bottom 12 inches (2 bucket wash). I have a smaller mitt for the lower portion. I prefer to use a small MF towel for behind the door handles and other smaller sections where using it like floss can come in handy.

How are you using your Air Compressor for Detailing

I have a very small compressor that is only used on the exterior after my leaf blower. Once the car looks good I walk around the car and hit all the gaps while wiping them down as the present themselves. It is fantastic for getting that last bit of moisture out of all the cracks and crevices...
