xmt speed clay or griots clay or megs mild?

Of the three, I have only ever used Griots. I found it to work well unless I dropped it on the ground. Then I had to throw it away. I am sure others will chime in. -- ITB

    Which Collinte to try?

The new AG discount has me itching for some new products to try. I want to try some Collinite. Should I get the 476 or the 885? I am also wondering which paint sealant to try. Four Star UPP seems to be well received. Considering the discount, is one of the more expensive products a better...

My favorite non-detailing detailing tool is...

Just an idea for a new topic to help share some good ideas that might be out there. For instance, I like to use old hotel keys (electronic card type) to help clean in the crevices of the vehicle interior. Wrap a wipe or cloth around the corner of the card and go to work in the crevices...

    Anyone use Surf City NanoSeal?

I saw this on an episode of "Chop, Cut Rebuild." Seemed to do a nice job on the 'Cuda they restored. I thought I'd ask for opinions on this product before I ordered it.

    Have you ever seen this?

I do not think that you did anything wrong with your buffing process. Like all said, who ever painted the wing either had some trapped solvent bubbles, some fisheye or perhaps even had some pinholes in the raw wing. You just managed to find them.

How can you tell if paint is hard or soft?

I see a lot of folks that talk about paint being hard or soft. How can you tell ahead of time if paint is hard or soft? For instance, it seems as though the Honda Nighthawk Black Pearl has a reputation for being "soft." Whereas there is discussion about certain ceramic clears being "hard."...

Cash for Clunkers - did you see this coming?

I was in the market for a new minivan. Local remaining Chrysler dealer new that I wanted to "clunk" my old pickup. He called me today. Bad news, said that Chrysler is cancelling all rebates come midnight Wednesday. He thinks I'll be better off taking what they'll give me on trade + rebates. I...

    Car drying w/Compressed Air?

You would really need to make sure the air is dry to the point that it is free of moisture. You could easily put rusty water back on the car. Most certainly it would be accidental, but you could find it upsetting. And with a lubricated compressor, you could even put some lube oil on it. If you...

    Foam Applicator Storage

I hung the hook side of some industrial adhesive velcro to the inside of a wall cabinet. I would then stick the pads to the cabinet and allow them to drip dry. I need to find some of these fruit storage bags. Where can I acquire them?

    Greetings from the 'naw

Nice to meet you all. Been caring for my cars now for about 15 years. I've got a lot of Griot's supplies which have always allowed me to turn out a nice job. Love my PC DA. I also enjoy taking the micro-mesh abrasive kit to cloudy headlights. Dislikes are road salt. I loathe the chip and...

    5.5 CCS v 6.5 CCS

Looking to decide on the 5.5 CCS vs the 6.5 CCS pads. Question, are they both made from the same foam? I have a pre-takeover PC 7335 that I use for buffing duty. The specific situation is that I want to match the pad with the XMT360. XMT360 seems like a really nice product. Since I would...
