    Engine shampoo vs warm engine

Hi, How to you proceed when a customers asks for JUST an engine shampoo? Unlike a full detailing job, you don't have time to let the engine cool down because there's so long the customer can wait. I'm always worried about the ultra hot engine block reacting to ice cold water. Would filling a...

What to use after PB BLACKHOLE

No, it's ideally EX-P over BH which will increase durability. You can of course do BH over EX-P, but don't expect it to last much more than 2 or 3 weeks.

What to use after PB BLACKHOLE

I tried EX-P over BH and when comparing the pre/post EX-P with halogens or LEDs, it looks like EX-P removes around 25% to 50% of the BH and I see some swirls coming back. I could use softer waxes (ex.: Souveran), but I'm trying to find a combo that'll offer some durability for BH.

    Modified GT500

Mods, please delete this thread as I don't have the unprocessed RAWs. The owner was waiting for his car and I didn't have time to set the SLR in non-HDR non-automatic mode. Thank you!

    Modified GT500

No photoshop in any of the pics, juste Lightroom to adjust the white balance and tones. The outside shots are straight out of the Pentax K-x in HDR mode because it was WAY too sunny to catch all the tones. The pictures under halogen aren't HDRs and no phoroshop either. Aren't the unprocessed...

Shelby GT500 with 85 to 120 µm... What to do

Hello guys, I'm preparing a GT500 tonight and did some readings. On the upper sections (hood, trunk, upper area of the doors/fenders), I see 110-120 µm. On the other hand, when going down, I see as low as 85-90 µm on some areas. My initial plan was to use the following combo on the entire car...

    Black Stang

PO106FF w/ Flex 3401, but blue pad going fast just to improve the finish on these areas without generating any heat. There was a clear paint defect on the hood that I didn't want to make worse.

    Black Stang

This is because there were some paint bubbles on the edges of the hood and some burns on the door seams. I only applied 106FF on these parts.

    Estimate for big vehicles

I'm mainly detailing sports cars as a hobby and somebody asked me approximately how much I'd charge for his Chevrolet Avalanche. By experience, how much more time in % do you spend on such a big vehicle in comparison to a Mustang or Corvette?

    Souveran/M16 over Collinite 845?

Hi, I'm looking for the easiest, best looking and decently durable combination on dark colors. Would 845 + Souveran paste be a good combination? Would applying the Souveran take some 845 off? What about light colors? Would Collinite 845 + M16 be a good choice? Thanks. Yan

Yes, my finger nail sticks pretty bad in the scratch.

Wet sanding - Could I correct more than this?

Hi. A friend of mine had a minor accident and asked me to correct his STI for free. The impact was quite bad and the door was bent. I have a flex 3401. Knowing that the Subaru paint is soft, I proceeded with the following steps: - wet sanding w/ 2000 paper - purple wool and m105 without...

    Modded cars

Excellent idea! :props: Here's my '01 Mustang GT: My first goal was to have a very lean looking car so I took the wing off, took the Ford crests off, and matched the wheels/windows with the paint. Then I used this lean look to make it a sleeper and installed: - XCalibrator II w/ custom...

    PB Black Hole vs LSP

Hi! Today, I gave PB Black Hole a first try to and was amazed by the hiding capabilities. One quick pass with the Flex 3401 on blue CCS pad gave results very similar to M105 on orange pad followed by P106FA. It took care of 99% of the swirls. Of course I know it's only temporary, but for a...

    Have you ever seen this?

I buffed this aftermarket rear wing last week with my orbital Flex. I really took care of generating no heat because i knew these plastic parts could react to heat. The passes were very fast (~10-15cm per second) without any pressure. The paint was still ice cold after each step: - M105 on...
