What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

She went to GMI, a school I once aspired to go to and visited. GMI (General Motors Institute) was originally a captive entity tailored by GM to develop employees; it was a co-op or work/study program, where you studied for 3 months, then spent 3 months working at a GM plant in an intern...

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Um...when the guy in charge is not a technical person? Remember when GM hired Bob Lutz as the product guru? And the CEO (who had been the CFO), when asked why he was hiring Lutz, replied that he (the CEO) was "not a car guy". And my head exploded, as I said to myself, "don't you HAVE to be a...

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I figured someone would say that. Isn't there a Kranzle that is $6-700? I mean I buy the cheap ones and throw them away too. I think using yours 10 times a month probably makes it last longer, honestly. I think letting them sit wet is part of the problem.

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I didn't analyze all those numbers but isn't part of it that it's rebuildable, while the cheap ones are throwaway?

    Armour cladding my New Maverick

Truck looks great! How do they do those driveways? Do they broadcast that orangey stone into the wet concrete? Is that just for appearance or is it also supposed to provide a wear surface, or non-slip?

    DFB's Garage

I have an old GE toaster oven that's from the early 70's that one of the heating elements gave out on. One of these years I will see if I can fix it, it's one of those ones that pops open when the toast is done (which it uses a heat sensor for).

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Sounds like maybe they were using soap in the pump sprayer, and then the PW to rinse. To paraphrase Walter Mitty (the Ben Stiller version), "you've got to make water choices" when you're a mobile detailer.

What is this and how to remove

Yeah, could be sap or bee poo. To add about the Stoner product, they had a good YouTube explanation about how iron removers work, saying that nothing actually dissolves an entire iron particle that's embedded in the paint in the time we leave it on the car, and that what you want the iron...

    Rinseless Washes - 2022

The Guz called it "very ONR-ish". I have a bottle of it sitting right here but I haven't used it yet. The Guz did gush over ONR v.6 that was released at TRCMA, so maybe the Griot's is not "very ONR-ish" anymore, since he now likes ONR again.

What is this and how to remove

Completely. It does not use any thioglycolates. They have a patented (purportedly) chemistry that is different. It works more slowly and turns orange instead of purple. They also have a non-color changing version of it, because apparently the orange will stain unsealed concrete.

What is this and how to remove

Well, if you have any color-changing wheel cleaners etc., it's a pretty quick test, spray some on and see if it bleeds.

What is this and how to remove

Bosko, you think that's artillery fungus? I was going to ask the OP if they were more orangey than yellow, because it looks to me like it's likely iron particles. In that case a decon product like Iron-X or one of the many others would be indicated. My favorite right now is the Stoner...

Glass Glue? - How to remove

It wasn't a coating like we would apply, it was applied at the glass factory. But that was a long time ago, it seems they don't do that anymore.
