    Storing Clay?

I've used the Meguiar's Smooth Clay Kit as well as their mild blue clay if I recall correctly. Both came with a plastic container, the Smooth Clay Kit came with a little box and the mild blue came with a plastic jar. The way I've always stored clay and it seems to be working for me is to put the...

    toughest sealant?

I didn't notice anyone mention Poorboy's EX-P sealant? What is y'all's opinion of it?

Mixing Solutions in Meguiars Refill Bottles

I'm glad you asked, evidently I was doing it incorrectly myself. I had gone over the ridge line ... :awman:

    Need an interior dressing

So matter of fact! I typically like to use PB's Natural Look.

    FLEX Rotary Pad Size

It sounds to me like you jumped in and did the whole car in one go. Did you happen to do a test area first? If you hadn't, it could be that you actually did take out some of the swirls but you have nothing to compare it to so you think you didn't remove any of the swirls (spider webbing) at all...

    Need New Interior Cleaner/Protectant

I have a CX-7 and have used NL as well. Just like you I don't like the way it comes out, I think I'll give Meg's Interior Detailer a try.

    Green pad??

I was completely wrong on this. I watched the videos myself just to make sure I'm using the correct technique and sure enough I wasn't. For spreading both the sealant and wax by hand you'll want to spread the product in straight lines in the direction that the wind would blow over the car. Sorry...

    Green pad??

I don't know about the benefits between doing it one way or the other but I can answer on how it's done; Use a foam pad in circular motions that have 50% overlaps (experts correct me if I'm wrong). Mike has some videos that show that procedure so just search for it in the video section.

    Autogeek!!!!!!!

Unfortunately Florida doesn't exactly have the industry I'm in so I'm stuck in Texas. BUT, I think AG should open up a shop in Houston!!!! Plus that way, all us Texan detailers (professional and enthusiast) could attend your training classes... It stinks not having anyone doing detailing classes...

    Stripping Wax and sealant

While reading this thread I remembered I have Meguiar's Deep Crystal trio in my arsenal. Have any of you used the Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner? What is your take on this product? Also, in general, how do you apply the pre-wax cleaner (what pad and speed if using a DA/Flex, or by hand)?

    Green pad??

Just out of curiousity, why don't you want to apply your EX and Natty's by hand? My personal preference is to do the sealant and wax by hand. I feel it's more thorough for these two product types.

    Finish Kare 425

Come to think of it, I think I remember someone telling me that they wax their windows for the extra water beading (or something like that). I never did ask if it worked or if it was worth it.

    Finish Kare 425

Perhaps this is a topic for another thread but why do you spray anything other than glass cleaner on the windows? :dunno:

2011 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport

The price tag is $1.8 million according to an article I read yesterday. I was surprised at that as the original Veyron is still in the $1.2 million range.

    Wax help?

Just as Dubbin stated, it's strictly for aesthetic reasons as it can give the car a wetter, glossier appearance. I really like to use Natty's Red Paste Wax as it's not very expensive, smells great, and is very easy to apply and remove. I also use Meguiar's #16 wax but it's a bit tougher to...

    Non-Streaking Exterior Plastic Dressing?

If it's not that, what could it be? Those streaks are only around the back end of the truck underneath the tonneau. It's really bizarre....and ugly!! I remember the first time I used hyperdressing and had it on pretty thick for the shine and it streaked like crazy after it rained. I've seen...

    Non-Streaking Exterior Plastic Dressing?

Does such a thing exist?? I have a hard plastic tonneau cover on my truck that I dressed with Meguiar's Hyperdressing about a year ago. I hate to admit it, but even after many drive-through car washes and rains over a 10 month period when family and working out of state prohibited me from...

Long time lurker, first time poster

Welcome to the forums! As you know there's a ton of great information here. In a sense I'm just like you. I lurked for months and tried to absorb the wealth of knowledge that's here and just recently became a little more active and started to ask questions. Remember, if you detail your car...

Polishing Fail, I feel like giving up before it even started.

I could. That's what was so weird. A little would be picked up by the microfiber but the rest would just smear to the edges of where I just wiped. Perhaps my MFs were a little damp from sweaty hands. During this detail I was guilty of not swapping out MFs as often as I should have because I...
