    Teach me: Primer Polishes

I lifted this from my thread regarding Essence - - For more cutting performance, run more passes to fully cycle the abrasives. - For more filling ability, short cycle by spreading rapidly over the section and then completing a single set of passes. - Essence is said to be best with a light...

    DFB's Garage

I had two options after what happened yesterday - 1. Keep my mouth shut and pretend it didn't happen for fear of making myself look like a fool in front of my peers. 2. Own the mistake and share what happened, in turn showing that no one is perfect. We all make mistakes, but I stood up and...

As I said, it was on me for not reading the product description. But come on, it's a rinse-less wash. Of the 11 others I've used, none have done this or required kid gloves to use. As I also said, Idrosave didn't really impress me enough during the actual wash for me to consider the kid glove...

Considering how the pH neutral rinse-less did what it did today, I'm really apprehensive to use the alkaline Primus, let alone the also pH neutral Semper. Which is a shame because I love the flamboyance of the Labocosmetica brand presentation, the bottles are gorgeous, and the scent of Semper is...

Which interior cleaner to prep for C6 Matte dash and l1 leather

You could use Green Star to do a deeper clean, but it will leave behind some mild residue. Actually, I'd be more inclined to use Pol Star, followed by ASC or Absolute. Yes, Absolute will leave a polymer behind, but that won't be problem here. From what I've noticed, ASC has an element of IPA in...

    Teach me: Primer Polishes

From memory, the main benefit of Essence was that it was great for really soft paints that mar easily. The concept being that you eliminate the need for the panel prep stage, which in turn reduces the amount of towel work required while the paint is un-protected. It also has mild filling ability...

    Teach me: Primer Polishes

I've used Essence with Gyeon coatings (Pure EVO and Can Coat EVO) and found they work just fine together. In fact, I got about 15-months out of Can Coat EVO on top of Essence.

Another day, another delivery........................... These new Detail Factory brushes have only just hit the market. The foam ones are like those craft brushes, just with a better handle and stronger foam. However, I do wonder how durable they will be. From what I can see, they were...

Sassy you say? I ordered these because they were listed as being red but ended up more of a fluro orange. I also ordered them because of the name, Adidas Run Falcon. I actually wore them today because my others are still wet from washing. These ones are Pegusus GoreTex, which are...

Today I managed to get rid of the Ranger's old steel wheels, which meant a trip to the storage shed. Didn't get much for them, but they are hardly desirable for anything other than to use on a trailer. Anyway, good riddance. While I was there, I thought I'd get the Jaaaaaag out for a run...

    TWHS flex wax discontinued.

Also, to be clear, I'm not necessarily hating on Meguiar's, Adams or Turtle Wax here. Instead, I'm pointing out the greediness of the companies that import and distribute products for these brands.......................Meguiar's in particular.

Yep. The one I always point out is Adam's Car Shampoo, the blue one in a 16-oz / 500ml bottle. In the US, that bottle is $9.99 USD. In Australia, that same bottle costs $34.99. And because that Adam's is only sold by the one online retailer, you have to add shipping cost to the $35 too. For the...

I'm guessing your old mower had the 190cc (Quantum) flat head. What they lacked in outright power, they made up for it with torque. Think of it like comparing a Ford Coyote DOHC 5.0 V8 compared to a GM 6.2 pushrod OHV V8. While both produce similar power numbers, they go about it very...

Couple of things I've come across with these engines - 1. Inspect, clean or replace the air filter often. From what I have seen, they plug up very quickly. They are a very basic paper cartridge which I believe can't be cleaned out like the older oiled foam filters. They aren't all that...

The BBC's Ground Force was the OG garden makeover program. I used to watch this show back in the 2000's, back when "lifestyle" programs were the rage. https://www.youtube.com/@GroundForceArchive/videos I'm reminded of this because I landed on an old Top Gear spoof that somehow I had never...

I do too. I guess when you aren't into car cleaning that much, you don't realize how overpriced the majority of the Meguiar's, Adam's, Turtle Wax, Mother's brands are. For us, we go online for the wider range of choice and discover that RRP's are so over inflated.

My problem with this is why aren't these products and brands always at 25% off? All they have done is over inflate the recommended retail prices to allow for a constant cycle of on-sale/off sale. It's trickery because you just know that the sale prices are what they should be in the first price...
