    polycharger help.

Hey Guys, Where do I locate these polycharger products/additives in Autogeek store. Any reason to add one or the other to PoorBoy's EX-P (which might already be "polycharged" from what I've been reading)? Thanks, Martin

    What Is Your Favorite Clay?

Has anyone tried the "Ice" - Liquid Clay/ "regular Clay" combo. I saw it recently at an auto parts store and the idea is to "pre-treat" with the liquid clay (wipe on wipe off with some gentle rubbing) followed by the regular procedure. Seemed to make some sense in terms of making "claying"...

Newb here! best product to keep brake dust from sticking to the wheels?

Harleyguy and Others, I don't mean to get into an argument on this topic but I've been "chrome-dipping" my rims since I purchased an Audi GT Coupe Quattro with some nasty alloy rims in 1986. The chrome may in fact run "hotter" (I don't really know) but it is much slicker than alloy or brushed...

Newb here! best product to keep brake dust from sticking to the wheels?

Honestly - No. I just have my mechanic order and install. Even an "off brand" ceramic is better than conventional. Don't know that there is too much difference between one brand or the other as long as you order from reputable parts supply outfit. Martin

Newb here! best product to keep brake dust from sticking to the wheels?

Cost of "ceramic" is roughly 1.5X the cost of the "regular" brake dust pads. Installation cost is the same. It BY FAR the best solution to the brake dust issue and they last at least 1.5X as long on the front and easily 2X - 3X as long on the rear so over time not much difference in actual...

Newb here! best product to keep brake dust from sticking to the wheels?

Get "ceramic" brake pads installed. I've been using them for close to ten years and will never go back. Even on a new car I immediately had them installed. Reduces brake dust 80% - 90% - especially on the front wheels. Other that that - "go chrome" and or install "WheelShields" (if it looks OK...

    5 star shine?

Porta, Given your comments and obvious experience I may have to re-consider my comments. At the time I used the 5 Star I was doing all prep work by hand - which is obviously not the best approach. (Mike is the "man".) I still have some 5 Star as well as some of their compounding materials (I...

    5 star shine?

Molarman, That product is what originally brought me to this Forum close to two years ago in an attempt to learn how to "prep" my paint in order to apply the 5 Star. I did know enough to realize that my slightly neglected paint needed some proper cleaning and correction in order to apply any...

XMT 360 followed with DG 105?

Thanks Sparkle, I'll be working on the car today. (My project is not only multiple steps but multiple weekends - bad OCD.) Anyway, I'll do some sections with the Collinite and some with the Duragloss as I have both and "sealing" is today's goal. Maybe will be able to appreciate some difference...

XMT 360 followed with DG 105?

Good point RTexas, "chemical cleaners" are still "cleaners" even if you don't have to "rub" them much. Looks like I'll be using some Collinite "sealant" product on top of my 360 XMT to avoid any issues AND get the durability. Appreciate your input. Martin

Full wet sand n' buff on '05 NBP Acura RL, by Rasky's Auto Detailing

Rasky, You "smacked" that orange peel really good. And the idea of "wet sanding" with a Dual Action brings my previously stuck learning curve to a new level. Also makes me even more happy with my new Griot's Machine - although I'm a bit away from tackling fresh and hard orange peel or any...

XMT 360 followed with DG 105?

I also would like to know the answer to this question. I recently used XMT 360. It is advertised as having mild/moderate correction, plus paint cleansing ability plus final polish/protection. In my limited experience the correction properties were "limited" - I had to move up to Ultimate...

Polishin' Pal w/Cutting Pad to remove swirls?

I know this might go against the grain here but here goes. I did a two step hand/machine compound job on a 2002 White Santa Fe. 120,000 miles. Well kept (i.e. clean and in garage) but no real polish/wax for years. The compounder did a fine job (wool and terry pads) on the deep stuff but lots of...
