3" or 4" Backing Plate-What is More Practical?

Thanks for the reply!!! I think I'll be starting with the GG 6" & getting a 3" backing plate to try with it. The good thing is if I hate it is I've already been pm'd about buying a used GG 3" which looks new for a decent price. :buffing:soon very soon:buffing:

3" or 4" Backing Plate-What is More Practical?

Good to know, have you tried a 3" backing plate on the GG 6"? This is the vibration I was referring too. Thanks :xyxthumbs:

    I bought too much!

Ok it with AG first, but have you ever thought about running a series of contests and giving them out as prizes? I'm new to detailing for the 21st century. When I was a teenager I had some mentally scaring episodes with turtle wax and armor all mixed with my gravel driveway. This caused me to...

    Taking off Dealers Sticker

Ok fellow geeks I have a slightly different problem. My wife's '98 civic symbol fell off and before I put on a new one I need to remove the old glue. I've tried goo gone with no luck, I detail by hand (for now) and was able to get most of it off with a ultra fine polish. What pad/polish combo...

3" or 4" Backing Plate-What is More Practical?

Thanks for the reply, I'm looking at getting a GG 6" after Christmas and was planning on doing the same thing. But I'm mainly looking at using it around the windows and flair around the wheels of my truck. I have gotten mixed response about the vibration though and one more opinion would be...

    wax removal - plastic trim

:goodpost: But I did not know about the citrus wash and clear. I use the CG Wash and Gloss at 1oz to 1gal to remove LSP and CG Wash and Gloss at 1oz to 4-5gal for regular washes and it leaves the LSP on just fine:xyxthumbs: I also have been using the CG green clean at 15:1 (water:concentrate)...

    wax removal - plastic trim

If you don't mind starting all over, re washing w/ CG wash and gloss at LSP removal strength (1oz to 1gal). Being a noob myself, I had to do this after my first "real" detail! As far as Wax on a windshield, I'm not a fan, but I use CG Jetseal on the windshield and have been real happy :xyxthumbs:

One last question, do you remove the counter weight when using a smaller pad? Thanks again

    product selection for a friend

Did you ever think about making samples of your favorite good products and just printing off the instructions? You can get sample sized containers from Wal-Mart... or near empty bottles. This way you can get him hooked on the items he should be using anyway and spend the cash on some decent MF...

Products for black trim on exterior

CG VRP: 1) on a daily driver 2012 Frontier that lives outside 4-6 weeks. 2) on my wife's daily driver 1998 Civic, garage queen about 8weeks. It looks great on all surfaces except Civic front grill and only looks OK there. I look forward to others thoughts!

    Flu Shot?

Please know that flu shots don't keep you from getting the flu. All they do is give your immune system a head-start which decreases chances of death and/or severity.

I'm a big fan and get one each year, but all of the nay's sure do help my overtime. More overtime = more cash to AG. :dblthumb2:Im the MAN

3rd Gen Griot's Garage 6 Inch Polisher In Stock!

Thx hell spawn, I'll be using it for a hobbie so if the lack of power causes me to make a few more passes and go a little slower, that could actually be a good thing for my paint. It was a good read, so thx again!

3rd Gen Griot's Garage 6 Inch Polisher In Stock!

Thanks Nick, that makes a lot of since. This is probably a stupid question, so feel free to mock ;) but I'll mainly be doing a 2012 Nissan Frontier and a 98 civic and both have a few areas where you cannot place a 5 or 6 inch pad flat on the surface. So is overhang an issue? Thanks for your help!
