Car detailed, ppf applied, and 1000's of scratches

Why wouldn't you just inspect the entire car for swirls? The clear bra installer isn't going to wipe down your ENTIRE car. IF you find them else where, the Detailer did a poor job - but you did pay for a poor job for what he charged. Not blaming you at all. Plus, that marring does not look like...

Does this look normal? Can it be fixed?

Does the rocker have the same discoloration on the underside? I would save time & try some 2000 wet sandpaper in a small area underneath. That'll tell you if it's worth the time hand polishing or looking to borrow a buffer or finding a friend with one.

Becoming more efficient while buffing? tips?

$130-$165 for FULL interior detail. Another $100 just to turn on the PC/Rotary + $35-45 for an AIO, car leaves AS/IS no room to complain. $50hr for the various stages as needed around the car. This dealer is willing to pay for quality work. There are 2 detailers in town, they do nothing more...

Becoming more efficient while buffing? tips?

I receive many Dealer cars that are heading off to auction, with many on their way to the front line on the dealership lot. So far the dealer is estactic with my ability to bring life back into paint. They have their own large detail shop but they send me the "good luck fixing that" cars. I...

Light polish will work. I see this all the time. It's the only solution I've found.

Weirdest thing happened today - pad

Your pads are flying off and you aren't damaging the paint? The only time I've had pads inflate, spit compound, or whip off would be when I've lifted the machine, saturated the pads, pads weren't completely dry, or over worked them. And I've destroyed at least one of every brand by doing one...

    Stubborn tar - quicker way?

Looks excellent. I will give this a try. What do you feel is a fair rate for tar removal? By the job? Hourly?

    Stubborn tar - quicker way?

Several roads have been paved in my area recently and I am running into cars with excessive amounts of tar. Next year there is going to be even more road improvements and this needs to be addressed as I won't be getting a break from this any time soon. Today I lost an hour and a half doing...

Weirdest thing happened today - pad

Contact them. I have a new set of CG pads and haven't had any issues. But I do know my previous set did not like heat. If they got hot from over working, they were toast.

    Should I bother?

You'll destroy your pads in 5 seconds. It'll destroy your microfibers, it'll be a huge waste of product. This car will fight back, because it wants to be left alone. It's beautiful that it has a natural finish like that! I've always wanted a classic car like that. Total treasure.

    The Magic Eraser

Magic Eraser is non toxic. Visit snopes.com I use ME's on a ton of stuff, not just for auto detailing. They are safe to use bare handed lol. And if you need to wear gloves using a product on a customers car, then you shouldn't be exposing them to that unless it's a necessity and they are...

HELP! Used scotch gard oxy to remove pizza stain now looks worse

What do you have for tools? I recently had a cloth F350 with stains that my 'professional' chem wouldn't touch. I ended up using diluted simple green on the spot and the entire area, gently rubbing the area, then misted with warm water and extracted it using a vacuum. Came out like new after a...

Have a Question on Possible Upcoming Detail

Not everyone is in a position to just turn away work. When you have a client that wants questionable work done, you can present your services in another way. I can't afford to turn away work, so I will do my best to work with the client on questionable work, while presenting a quote for proper...

    2011 Hyundai Elantra - Hard paint ?/correction

It doesn't mean that cars paint is very hard I just did a newer Elantra and the paint was very soft. Last year I did another Hyundai and it was harder to work with than any Mercedes I've ever worked on. You will just have to be prepared.

What do you think? Beginning clear coat failure?

I'd offer a glaze and wax for dark cars. I recently ran into a car from a dealer headed to auction like this. The hood clear was checked bad, rest of the car was good. I warned them multiple times that as soon as polish hits it, they will absorb the polish and look 50x worse. They insisted I...

Where do you store your car detailing supplies?

I've had a lot of polishes and compounds go bad around 40 degrees. Nothing more annoying than having an almost new bottle of expensive compound separate and refuse to mix after a cold night.

Have a Question on Possible Upcoming Detail

I would work these by hand, only if you are confident there is clear coat on them. Rattle can clear is soft and can't handle much work from any machine in my experience. I have re-cleared my own headlights and tails, along with several customers and have hand polished them smooth. I don't like...

    problems finishing out paint

I have found that sometimes with these soft paints that are hard to finish, I can get by using speed 6 with my PC with a finishing pad, but one wrong move or the pad stopping will make a mess in that area. I have no clue why. It seems to be a common occurrence for me with soft paint. The easier...

    Driplines on Cars

Light polish a small area & apply a wax in that area only & experiment washing and see if it comes back. I've seen this on my own vehicles when I have been too busy to properly care for them to my standards. Seems like contaminants in the wax/finish create these issues.

    problems finishing out paint

I've run into a few cars like this. I had recently a green Camry that turned into a mess with any soft finishing pads. Didn't matter what product, what machine speed, what hand speed, nothing. It would not finish down with anything but an orange pad @ 5-6.
