New Car Paint Defect (Need Advice)

My 2 cents- I wouldn't worry about overspray as they will, or should, mask off the rest of the car. At this point my main concern would be their ability to match the existing paint. Pearl is nearly impossible to match exactly. When you get the car back be sure to inspect it in different light...

    Foam cannon question

3.5 to 4 oz. Meguiar’s Hyper-Wash with 1/2 oz Optimum No Rinse and a full bottle with cannon 1/4 turn off full will just cover my Avalanche. Foam is like shaving cream.

    Pro Detailer wanted Tallahassee area

Does anyone know of a good detailer in the Tallahassee area? A fella at an Avalanche forum I frequent just got a 2013 and wants to get it detailed and Opti-Coated. Good move I think. The guy he had lined up to do the work called him and asked for a credit card deposit so he could order...

Ice water after several coats of carnauba

Ha. I was wondering when someone would mention cornstarch. We use to use it all the time when removing carnauba. Harly wax then dust with cornstarch. Sometimes these little tricks get lost over time.

    My Flex is acting funny..

Good point jpegs13. I didn't think of that. My fan is from the 1940's. Probably draws a lot more than new ones.

My lack of common sense has caused a problem

Lighter fluid. The kind for a Zippo not the BBQ.

    My Flex is acting funny..

There could be a few things going on here. If the house has one of the new "smart Meters" on it that could be one issue. The power company can and does constantly adjust the power going to the house. Second thing, if there are too many houses in the area without the proper number of transformers...

Wax in plastic door handle, removal suggestions

I have an Avalanche and this is a constant problem seeing as how half the darn thing is plastic. The best and easiest thing I have found is an eraser. (Not CarPro Eraser, just an eraser) The white ones work best.

Foil windsheild heat reflector transferred to dash, now what?

Just a thought- Since it's that flakey foil stuff maybe if you got a piece of clear packing tape and taped over it, give it a little rub on the foil, then lift off the tape. It might lift the foil with it and probably won't damage the cushioned vinyl. Maybe get a q-tip with some alcohol and...

Which tools and products will fix this?

I'm from the old school with gel coat polishing. That is, burning a compound stick into a wool pad and going to town. A some years ago I tried Buff Magic. Great product. For ease of use this stuff is fantastic. It has a diminishing compound that makes it more or less a one step product. Follow...

    Spilled Milk

Something similar happened to me a few cars ago except it was combination of milk and orange juice. The car was closed and parked for a few days in the sun. Needless to say it was pretty ripe in there. The solution-- Go to the pet store and get a product called "Natures Miracle". Pour it on...

New truck going cross country - care help!

Well my first post here might as well be a response to another first time poster. Hi MadamX, Firstly I would get a stone/bug deflector for the hood. Not much you can do about the rest of the front of your truck. Oddly enough I have found that the only trouble area is the front of the hood. The...
