Ideas for showing work at car show.

I think your 50/50 approach is a great idea, probably the next best thing to actually doing some detailing at the show.

Need advice starting my business (LLC,DBA)

This is what I do as well, per my accountant. I have 2 "side" businesses and both are LLC/S-corp (my detailing biz being one of them). You don't need to register the vehicle in the business name. Just have your accountant (or yourself) claim it on your taxes as part of the business. You can...

As already mentioned, just go to the about or edit page section of your facebook page. You create "offers" by clicking the offer button and then filling out all the details. The button should be right above you status field where all the other buttons are (post, image, etc). Good luck!

The weather's terrible and you can't detail cars. What are you doing to improve your business?

Colorado is hit and miss in the winter. A little over a week ago the high was -10...today it was like 65. I've had to postpone 2 (big) jobs this winter already, but luckily cold weather in the Denver area does not last long before it's back to 40+ and sunny.

I am confused, you say to search for the Sweetwaters page then link a page for some Extreme Auto detailing? Having a hard time finding the right page to like. Well, I have liked both of your guys pages and anyone else who replies with a new one. The problem is a lot of people post up their...

High quality production detailing by Mike Phillips

Right, I do make it clear (to customers) that it won't remove any swirls or scratches. My other detail package is similar to what you did with this black car, where I just use a white LC pad and M205 to do a one-step polish for minor swirl/scratch removal. I'll be sure to check my pads more...

Debating whether or not to start a side job

Ahh, yea that one is good too. I just ran out of a bottle of that...never seen it in a larger size though.

Debating whether or not to start a side job

Who are you replying to? My reply was to Enforcer, who specifically asked about Meg's spray wax only. I prefer the "combo" wash/wax products too, that's why I use Klasse AIO :)

Debating whether or not to start a side job

Yes, that is how I get it: Meguiars Synthetic X-press Spray Wax, X-press car wax, Meguiars X-press spray liquid wax, D156

What are you going to detail this weekend?

I am excited as this weekend I get to detail a silver 2012 Mercedes AMG C63, Black Series :dblthumb2: The paint is in great shape over all, just filthy dirty, so no paint correction is needed. The owner wants it cleaned up good and the paint shined up so it stands out. Going to be fun!

High quality production detailing by Mike Phillips

Great work and info as always. I am using Klasse AIO as my one-step detail product right now. After reading this article I now know of another process for black paint if needed. Just another tool in the toolbox, thanks! :D

Debating whether or not to start a side job

I use Klasse AIO as my all-in-one. After a car has had my AIO detail (Level 2 Detail) I then put them on my Level 1 Detail plan, which is ONR wash and Meg's spray wax. For tires, trim, interiors...it doesn't get much easier than Meg's Hyper dressing in my opinion. You can use that product in...

    Deciding on a logo

I'd ask for a revision that is a combination of the 1st and 2nd one. I think the font/effects from the 1st one would go good with the car image of the 2nd one. Good luck! I used fiverr for my logo as well and had a good experience.

The weather's terrible and you can't detail cars. What are you doing to improve your business?

Great post, and very helpful to hear what others are doing. My detailing business is only part time, but I do try to get other things done when I do not have a weekend job lined up. Some of the things I work on: 1. Add updates/news to Facebook, Google+, website 2. Update or enhance my...
