I agree 100 percent. When my coated windows get water spots they are easily removed with rinseless, waterless, or regular washing. I prefer to top my coated windows with Sonax PNS, which seems to reduce the spotting.

If you want to polish them, I have had success with a liquid cleaner wax such as Meguiars. You can apply 846 afterwards also.

In that case I would definitely try a coating. Make sure the tires are thoroughly cleaned before applying the coating, and apply at least 2 coats.

I found the same results with the Tuf Shine coating. Great results and durability on Pirelli, not as good on Continental.

I would go with either the ease of use of Hydro2 and reapply 2-3 times a year as necessary, or McKee's wheel coating and be set for a year. I have used both. On my own vehicles I prefer to use the coating. With either product you should only need to use your car wash soap for cleaning...

I used to have the same problem with glass. I have found that keeping the wiping surface of the towel flat and using pressure (basically buffing) with the second towel solved my problem.

Nick, I have been eyeing this polisher for a while now. However, I have read multiple reviews on other sites where the backing plate has worn out and needed replaced. Is this backing plate unique to the polisher and only available through Griots?

Good to hear! Sounds like I can't go wrong with any of the coatings. Maybe I will experiment by trying the DP on one set and a different coating on the other.
