Well I tried it... Tomorrow I will wash and follow with an IPA. Then opticoat 2.0.

I have spoke with the manufacturer and this is gel coated AND clear coated.

I do plan on doing the whole car. I was wondering if I need to top the opticoat on the hood with something else to help fight uv rays. Carbon fiber will yellow and degrade over time with exposure to uv rays.

Does this product have a lot of UV protection? I am doing my whole car which includes a carbon fiber hood (and soon to be grills) and am wondering if I need to try to top the OptiCoat2.0 on the hood with something else?

I always do IPA wipe down's before applying any wax/ sealant. I am very excited to try out opticoat.

I only have a PC...no rotary.

So last year I bought PO85RD and a blue 5.5" LC smart pad. At the time I had read a thread on how to do this but cannot find this thread for anything. This is my final step before applying opticoat for the first time so I want to get the finish as good as I can.

So what would the proper technique for doing this with a porter cable be? I have PO85RD and a blue pad.

I plan to pick up a few of these Sheepskin Wash Mitt but the reviews have me worried. Anyone have any real experience with these? The mits I have right now are going on 3 years old and are still somewhat together.
