Help Me Equip My New Garage!

From someone who has all of this in their garage, including A maxjax lift. The only thing that is necessary is AC/heat. You can have all the tools in the world but if it's too hot in your shop, the tools will just sit there. Even a nice window or portable AC unit will make a world of a...

    Meguiars Ultimate Compound

When I use UC, I normally use the 5.5" LC Orange pad. Then finish it off with gray or white pad with a one step product like the Griots One step sealant, then top it off with blue pad and wax of choice

    Rubbed through

with a clean pad, that had the proper amount of product on it for lubrication. I just dont see how you could get through the clear that easily. Unless the pad was dirty, or you were polishing in the direct sunlight holding a heatgun to the paint as your scrubbed away...

    Ultima interior shampoo gel

No I have never had a problem with it and don't intend to either. However I don't scrub the whole seats down with it or anything. It works very well and stubborn spots on plastic and leather. For example, marks from pens and sharpies, etc. Also on the black marks along the door sill's from...

    New or Classic?

I'm a sucker for the classics, but like I mentioned. I would want to restore and build my own and make it mine. LOL@these folks arguing about time slips and all that. If guy1 wants to brag about his 650HP car with "NOS" then let him. If he built it and loves it that's all that matters. Can...

    New or Classic?

If it were me, I would buy a DD and build your own classic. Or if you have a DD, then put the money towards buying a relatively clean body and frame. Depending on how much you have, might even find a good one already on rollers. You will love and appreciate the car so much more that way...

    Ultima interior shampoo gel

Magic Eraser with just a spritz of water on the sponge does wonders for hard to get spots out of leather. I have never had a problem using one. After that, just use the conditioner of choice. Of course, that is just my preference.

Retractable extension cord , hose extension , applicator question, questions

you can get retractable extension cords, but for the money your getting a smaller gauge cord at a higher cost. I would get a high quality contractor grade cord(if you dont have one), and then just by a reel to make it easier to roll up. Personally I just roll it up by hand, but I have done...

    Best vacuum for under $40?

Wal Mart has a Shop Vac for 30 bucks that is 2.5HP and heck I dont know maybe 2 gallons or something. Anyways, I bought it to keep in the boathouse at my family's lakehouse and ended up liking it so much I brought it home. I use it pretty often on my own vehicle and also when I go camping etc...

What do you test new products on?

I test on my Jeep. Even though it's only two years old, I offroad quite often and it always has fresh scratches and blemishes on the paint. Im not worried about damaging it while buffing as I often drag tree limbs, rocks, and other debris across its various surfaces offroad.

Paint thickness question on upcoming job

Thanks guys for the reassurance. Yes this vehicle is a landmark to my career and could possibly lead to a lot more work in the "specialized", rare and custom vehicle world. Meeting with the owner is not an option as the new owner lives out of the country where the vehicle is heading. However...

    Meguiars Mirror Glaze line.

I use most of the mirror glaze line regularly. I really like the #26 because for me gives a great look on any color, and is priced very well and that of course leads to more profit in each detail I do. 105/205 are my "go to" polishes....like alot of people. The #7 show car glaze is really...

Paint thickness question on upcoming job

Ok well I have landed a pretty large job for myself and have a question about paint thickness. It is a custom vehicle that was completely resprayed after completion(2007). It was painted in a factory blue(Viper GTS Blue), but there is no telling if it was painted using factory paint or a...

Wish I Found This Site Earlier!!!

I love the #7. It does wonders on single stage paints. I use it all the time on clear coats as well and have great results. If it were me, I'd strip everything off of it that you just did, see how bad the damage is then go from there. If you arent sure on what to do once you see how bad...

Best detailing tools that are not made for detailing

Foam applicators in the paint section at Wal Mart. They are 1.50 for a 12 pack of different sizes. They hare a little foam applicator on the tip of a small wooden stick. The pack comes with ones that range from 1/2" to 2" wide. They are the best thing I have used to apply dressing on all...
