Pad is a pad is a pad, me having multiple machines is not an obstacle to using 2000, I just got cheap HF rotary dedicated for solely washing pads (I do not wash while I work, that slows me down, I just carry enough clean pads and wash later).

I removed it. It was getting in my way, both when I wanted to press the pad down / tilt it and and when I was trying to center pad. With it removed I am much more happy.
