Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax OR Fast Finish?

I actually found your thread after I posted this and found your experience (Yes, use the Search button first). I guess I could dual layer it for added protection. I hadn't thought of that as I was really considering one or the other. I was leaning to UFF because of all the recent feedback and...

Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax OR Fast Finish?

Point taken. I guess I was looking for "what would you do?" out of the group. I like the idea of having more gloss and shine on this paint color as it has a lot of metallic flake to it, but I am also fighting the temptation of something that would be a fraction of the time with as good of...

Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax OR Fast Finish?

Wife and I got a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica in Granite Crystal Metallic yesterday and I'm getting ready to put some protection on the new paint. I have a bottle of ULW from last year that I planned to use, but then I started thinking about how much work it was to apply it (background: I couldn't get...

    Hyper Wash vs. Duragloss soap?

Thanks for sharing that! I am intrigued since it's a new product and I always like seeing the latest and greatest from manufacturers. So now my options are trying this new D113 citrus blast, reordering D110 Hyperwash, or maybe trying D111 Shampoo plus as there are many competing reviews for...

    Hyper Wash vs. Duragloss soap?

It is good but I felt I wouldn't have to double over spots as much considering I foam, dwell, and 2 bucket. I was hoping the dwell time would break down more dirt. I'm not unsatisfied with it at all but thought I might as well switch it up since I need to order more soap.

    Hyper Wash vs. Duragloss soap?

I wash my daily driver (White Knuckle Dodge Charger) about once a week to keep clean and put a layer of Meg's UW on it about once a month. I'm just about finished with my gallon of Hyper Wash and considering switching it up. I've been pretty pleased with the Meg's so far - it's inexpensive...

New Guy getting started and looking for guidance on products

Yeah, I meant to say choose an AIO from what I have vs. spending more money. I'm going to tackle the project next weekend after I can Iron X and clay. Just gotta decide if I want to do ColorX or Ultimate Polish prior to applying Ultimate Wax.

New Guy getting started and looking for guidance on products

Looking through my arsenal of Meguiar's products that was given to me I found out I have quite a few options: AOI: Meg's Cleaner Wax, Deep Crystal Wet Look, or ColoRX Finish Wax/Sealant: Ultimate Wax, Deep Crystal Carnuba, Gold Class Carnuba Plus, or NXT Tech Wax 2.0 Other polishes: Scratch X...

New Guy getting started and looking for guidance on products

Unfortunately, The reality of my situation is that I don't have a ton of time to invest; with work and the family activities I'm lucky to get 3-4 hours for a project. I had even considered scrapping the idea of detailing my own vehicles because of this but hate to give someone else a couple...

New Guy getting started and looking for guidance on products

This is where my head is at now. I don't have a day to dedicate to detailing so I'm thinking of washing and Iron X then baggie test. Since I have the Nanoskin mitt I am thinking about doing that possibly because it should be easier and less time than using clay. Depending on using the Nanoskin...

New Guy getting started and looking for guidance on products

Reading Mike's book and some forum posts this morning has me really confused on what I should be doing with my new car. At minimum the car needs a good wash and Iron X because of the little deposits I can see, but then I am not sure how to plan my next step. The car does have some deposits and...

New Guy getting started and looking for guidance on products

So I'm still reading and researching a bit this AM. My cars are fairly new so I am not sure I will need to use cutting pads and compound unless I am wrong. I planned to just clay mitt, fine polish, wax. From what I read, I think 2-3 white/polish pads and 1-2 red/finish waxing pads should be...

New Guy getting started and looking for guidance on products

Now I am questioning if I have enough supplies to polish and wax my car - assuming I need to do both after I use Nanoskin mitt. Should I then have 3 polishing pads and 3 wax/finish pads for 1 car? Or will a pair of each do it as long as I clean really well on the fly? I was going to buy the...

New Guy getting started and looking for guidance on products

Wow thanks for reading and giving some tips Mike! I'm really eager to get my paint corrected but need to make sure I know what I'm doing first so I'll definitely read the book. I guess I'll need to get quite a few additional pads before tackling the polish and wax job.

Thank you for the info! I figured I would just act like I was washing the car a second time with the NS mitt. I am really interested in getting the paint nice and smooth! I am almost out of Meg's Gold Class wash so I am looking for something new with a bit more suds.

New Guy getting started and looking for guidance on products

Anyone help? I am thinking about tackling the project this weekend if I have half a day to set aside with wash, nanoskin, polish, wax....I really want to get the imperfections and iron spots out of the paint ASAP.

Does anyone have advice/info on using the Nanoskin mitt? Not sure if I need to use QD as a lubricant or soapy water.

The value kit I bought comes with 1 each orange, white, blue pad plus 2 red soft wax pads. For polishing and waxing my Charger should I get another white polishing pad? I've got more Meg's products than I know what to do with (in pics) and wanna make sure I get the right equipment for my first...

    Polishing a new car

I'm new as well and about to tackle the same project with my own new car. One thing I'd recommend is throwing some Iron X in the steps before you clay.
