Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't have 3M Adhesive remover so I tried some Pro Goof Off and 1/2 hr later I was able to scrape it off,

3 hrs. later and counting. Still clinging.

This piece is solidly stuck on the carpet. How do you safely remove it?
