I'm about done with ceramic coatings, not worth it , need suggestions

Not one of the non coating products is making it through a Minnesota winter. I can fire my car through a touchless wash in February and have it come out looking like a fresh summer wash. A Si02 spray, wax or sealant is not doing that nor is it even going to last until February if applied in...

I'm about done with ceramic coatings, not worth it , need suggestions

Sorry but Si02 sprays do nothing better than a quality coating. They don't bead nor sheet as good. Longevity is a whole lot less. Protection is mediocre at best. They do not give the same look and appearance. The self cleaning is not close to the same level. I honestly don't know...

    2015 BMW 228i Jet Black

Bored and hung over to all hell so figured what the hell, I will post up a thread of my daily. It previously had CQuartz Uk 3.0 with CQuartz SiC on top and that is a VERY good combo. I decided to strip that off and apply Kamikaze ISM due to wanting a bit better water sheeting properties...

The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

The CQuartz combo was about 4 months old. The reason I stripped it was because I wanted something with better water sheeting properties with it being my daily driver and jet black. Now imo CQuartz 3.0 is absolutley the best all around bang for the buck and a insanely good coating but...

First time detailing. My apologies, but I have to ask the questions

If you're doing a 2 step correction, to keep it simple for ya..... this is what I would recommend..... - Carpro Ultracut compound - Carpro Essence polish - 12 Rupes yellow polishing pads and use them for both compounding and polishing. Then seal it with anything of your choosing

HF polisher eats HF foam pads

Are you using only two pads per vehicle? Are you using the yellow Baure pads from HF?

    Client expectations on paint correction?

Would need to see original damage and after pics. Also how aggressive you went at it.

AIO or Ceramic for car that is always outside?

My guess is no matter what you do, after the vehicle is detailed it will not be cared for much. If it were me I would blast it with Carpro Essence and then slap CQuartz Uk on it and call it good.

    Recommendation on DA Polishers

If you're referring to my post, 2 guys would be polishing at the same time. The guy with the da would follow right behind the rotary. The rotary guy would be a panel or two ahead.

    Recommendation on DA Polishers

I would go with a rotary (Flex PE 150) , especially if you're doing 2 stage corrections. You can get a 3 in. backing plate for it also. Have the first guy blast it with the rotary and the second guy follows finishing with the da. When done right it really does not take much to clean up...
