2007 Silverado clear coat really soft???

If you are not going to use/have a grit guard, atleast use another bucket full of clean water to rinse out your mit. I used a 1 bucket system for years but converted to a 2 bucket system with GG's for both my car wash and my wheels and tires.

    Removing Water Spots on Mirrors

About 7 years ago, I bought a 90 mustang lx 5.0. It had new paint but the glass and side mirrors we covered in waterspots. I used a 3m product for plastics to remove the waterspots. It took a while since I was doing it by hand. Since then I have used Meg's Plastic X to use on waterspots with the...

I have a question about waxing.

You reckon?! My chemistry teacher in H.S. told the class that you eat a little bit of teflon everytime you cook something in a teflon coated skillet.:hungry:

I have a question about waxing.

No worries here. I will continue to seal my vehicles. But the science sounded intrigueing.

I have a question about waxing.

I had a guy in the autobody repair business tell me I should never wax the paint on my vehicle? He said the when it rains, the water beads up and acts like a magnifying glass when the sun comes out. Is there any truth to this? If this is true, then even new cars with clear coats would be just...

    Recommend me a wheel cleaner

I dressed them with Mequiers Endurance. Wipe on, let it sit for 5 minutes then wipe off. This is a new technique for me since I use to just leave it on there. But it would sling off and I hated that.

    Recommend me a wheel cleaner

I Did a full detail on my wifes' Lacrosse on tuesday. Cleaned the wheels with diluted simplegreen, dried them, clayed them and then sealed them with mothers FX. Today I washed the Lacrosse again and just used soap and water. They were so much easier to clean.

    Wife just got a new...

Agreed. I will use soap and mit from now on since I have sealed the wheels. It should make them easier to clean. Thank you! I use a mixture of terry cloth to catch the big water and MF to catch everything else. No issues with the terry cloth on my end.

Ok, On Tuesday, I thoroughly washed the wheels and tires on Lacrosse with blech white and simple green (heavily diluted). Then I washed the car with Mothers California gold car wash. Followed by a thorough drying with all terry towels for the big water and then with MF towels for everything...

Thanks for the reply BobbyG! I suppose the reason I am 2nd guessing myself on the blech-white is because I hear it is so harsh on the tires. I've had good luck with it in the past. May continue with it, just looking for other options. As far as a wheel sealant, couldn't I just use a good...

    New car purchase

My wife just got a lacrosse as well. She had a Pontiac GP GTP before that was black. It was tough to maintain. I have always washed, clay barred and used a cleaner wax. Never used a sealant or polish?
